Big meh. Only Prime with the trailer was a consideration until I saw the price. Zero interest in a Joe line to go with TFs.

Change the Joe scale (like Human Alliance 2.5"), then the Joe fans will bitch about a change in scale and not buy them (even though I think it would go well at retail). What Hasbro would end up doing, so as not to confuse the "retail message" of the toyline (ie, you don't want your main TF hero like Optimus Prime change into a "bad guy" vehicle), you'd get something like Star WArs Transformers, which are the vehicles into "mech-ized" versions of the character (so a Cobra Commander into a Hiss tank). Probably do well with kids, not so much with collectors (who would promptly bitch and moan about it taking up resources from "the real GI Joe" even if they sold better than the 3.75 vehicles) Quote:
If you had asked a month ago, I probably would have voted no on this, simply because I thought Kre-o was going to be another Mega Bloks.
Now that I have had the opportunity to procure the Kre-o Bumblebee and mess around with it a bit, I would be all over GI Kre-os. The blocks fit together really tight, and the Kreons, while a little odd in the face, have much more poseability to them than lego minifigures do due to a ball joint on the arm and leg. If I saw a HISS tank on the shelf in Kre-o style, I would have no reservations buying it up. I would be very surprised if Kre-O makes any traction in the market (I think the biggest issue at the moment is that the sets are ONLY Transformers, there is no "family centric" sets like the Lego Creator sets) that we would not see some GI Joe sets next fall. If nothing else, the Kreon minifigs could be a BIG tool in getting fans into buying larger sets.

Would still rather have mega bloks with backpacks for a joe block line.
Those Kre-O have no where near the coolness of the Mega blok figures.

I was never a LEGO kid as a....well....kid, so I'm not too geeked about the Kre-O stuff.
It is cool, but I won't be buying any of it - potential Joe stuff included. |

And yes, no format change would be readily accepted by collectors. Not for a long time (see: Sigma Six). However, it'd likely do better with actual KIDS instead of adult collectors, and it (probably) wouldn't be that hard to have both the current, standard 3.75" line and a G.I Joe Transformers line co-existing on shelves. In fact, the latter could probably help act as a gateway to the former. But I digress. This thread is about Kre-Os.

In a word...no.
BTR which I actually though was getting better with each new release just was a big flop...I honestly can't picture Joe revisting this era again...personally I think instead of building block Joes we'd be better off with line closer to the Cycle Armor type, small vehicles that could become attachable armor for figures a whole line of THAT I would buy. I gotta be honest Joe as a line is struggling just to get regular product in stores I just don't see Joe Kre-O as something that will sell in fact I know when BTR came out I only bought Hollowpoint at full price...everything else...I waited for clearence, and thats what I would do here...I'd buy anything that had a new character, but everything else...I'd wait until TJ Maxx had it. Oh and I quoted you too because I really like your sig pic. something about it just keeps making me stare at it.

I'd bet..probably not. As stated anytime someone brings it up: there is NO WAY for a Joe/TF line to work at retail without screwing one set of fans or the other. If they keep Joes in the established 3.75" size, you would basically be unable to offer stuff much bigger than an Alpha while still keeping costs down. AT best, you'd get one or two leader sets (at $45 a pop) so the line would limited at best.
Change the Joe scale (like Human Alliance 2.5"), then the Joe fans will bitch about a change in scale and not buy them (even though I think it would go well at retail).

Like we really need another combat heroes line to diminish confidence in retailers of Joe in general. Definitely not the appropriate time.

Voted yes. Dig the Kreons and the KreO concept actually lends itself better to GiJoe than it does Transformers. No brainer imho
