As per #299, the Snake Eyes clone was entirely Mindbender's doing; Cobra Commander was against it and shut the project down. As for why he didn't clone Dan, I assume it's because he has no Brainwave Scanner memory backup of Dan to put into a clone's brain, so any clone would not be a "resurrection," like Snake Eyes, but a completely separate person with the same DNA.

Cobra Commander's ex-wife mentions Dan by name when going over CC's backstory in issue #84, so it's definitely Hama canon.

Even without the memories it's still his brother, and he could mold him into anything he wanted.

It seems a little creepy that Scarlett would knowingly rush into a cloned version of Snake-Eyes with arms opened. It's basically "Snake-Eyes is BACK. So we're back to status quo! Yay?"

I mean, I've been all for the ongoing efforts to clone the wooly mammoth, but a particular person who is/was dead...and then immediately smooching and rubbin' on them?
