Well, maybe, maybe not. Everyone has different tastes. If it's not sarcasm he at least gave reasons why he felt it was awesome, which seemed legit. It definitely had action and the team, the story just doesn't make sense. I would be a lot more accepting if it wasn't a Joe book, since it doesn't feel like a Joe book anymore, especially since the level of fantasy has risen. Sepentor was as sci-fi as hams went, iirc

Funny, I said the same thing about the Allor series. I disliked it b/c it didn't feel like Joe. But this series does, perhaps because it reminds me of the Sunbow cartoon series--which I enjoyed immensely. Liefeld's series is no more fantasy than Cobra-La!

Never read the Allor series but I'll pick up a trade if they make one.
I personally don't think deadgame reminds me of the sunbow show but that's just me.
Yes, cobra la was extremely fantasy/sci fi, and I loved it, even though it was so out of place with gi joe.

The thing many haters of the book don't realise is that this is NOT canon and is made simply for fun, which it excels at in the typical Liefeld so-over-the-top-that-it's-glorious way!

It feels like a Mortal Kombat vs Snake Eyes comic. Why is Snake Eyes wearing red and where the hell did all these MK rejects come from? I was looking forward to the book when Leffield was going to do it. I was thinking something like GI Joe: Snake Eyes like they had a few years ago. Kind of sucks. However, the other GI Joe book is awesome. Diaz does good work.
