I cried at the end of La Bamba when Ritchie Valens dies and they are playing the song "Sleepwalkers" and his brother yells out RITCHIE!!!

-any way- I don't weep over the Vader/Luke fight. I get emotional over the whole end scene with the ghosts and Luke; the real ghosts and Luke, not CGI retro story burping up all over my childhood emotions. It was the end of the story, and it should have stayed that way. Getting emotional is a far cry from weeping. I'd say it was the same feeling I got watching the last scene of Indy: Last Crusade, but it isn't quite. Other than weeping over the death of a franchise, after the fact. Spock biting it doesn't concern me, short of how much The Next Generation costs on DVD. (I love the original Star Trek, just not how much it costs, either) The last episode of Six Feet Under tends to get to me. |

Reading this thread, but I think that's actually just allergies... since it's only in one eye, and doesn't seem to be tied into any emotional response...
But ninety eight percent of Harry Chapin songs will make me weep openly like an infant. And sometimes if I know something is probably going to make me cry, I avoid it. Like, I've planned out my exit strategy for the next time I'm in a house with someone watching 'The Lion King'. As long as I'm in the bathroom for as long as it takes Mufasa to die and Simba to wind up with Timon and Pumbaa, I don't care what kind of intestinal distress people think I have.

Ladder 49. When the wife sees the chaplains car pull up outside and knows instantly what it means.
Also in Armageddon: When Willis and Affleck are going down in the airlock and Willis knocks Affleck back into it. Affleck: It's my job. Willis: Your job is looking after my little girl.

I got little misty at the end of Toy Story 3. It was like saying goodbye forever to some old friends. The last episode of Fresh Prince did the same, for the same reason.
I bawled my eyes out at The Family Man. My girl and I watched that while we were going through a really rough patch. I credit that movie with making us both realize we don't want to look back at that time in our lives and wonder "what if?". Perfect storm for an emotional mess. |
