Where will Carmelo go?
Who are your NBA final four? What's goin' on in LA? The Spurs are showing familiar strides that have resulted in past NBA Championships! Should Dwight Howard stay with Orlando? David West wants to leave, will CP3 follow? Where in the world is Carmen... errr, Ron Artest? Last edited by Mr. Focus; 02-17-2011 at 02:05 PM.. |

Being a lifelong Laker fan....I'm suprisingly not one of those guys that thinks no matter what, the Lakers can do no wrong and no matter what they will win the championship!
With that being said I'm honestly concerned not worried but definitely concerned! They are just are not playing with any sense of urgency or intesnsity...I'm also tired of hearing all these sports analysts saying it's hard to keep your interest and focus during an 82 game season and they're just waiting till the playoffs blah blah blah The fact is these guys don't bring it every night and some of them seem to be content with the fact that they've won two championships and are just going through the motions, if that's the case then ship them the F out and get some players in there that are hungry and want a ring and will go after every rebound and looseball to get it!

I think Carmelo will end up in New Jersey before the deadline but I hope the Lakers SHOCK the league with a gamble that will trade Bynum & Artest for Melo and secure a 2nd three-peat. Otherwise, LA will fall short of glory and struggle through re-building for the next 3-years. Carmelo's new contract with the Lakers could be contingent on them winning the NBA championship this year with a player option in 2013. |

Do you think LA should go after Melo? If so, who should they trade? |

I just can't see Melo signing an extension in NJ, so I think he's staying put and the Nuggets will try to get as far as they can with that team, make one last run.
Hmmm...It seems a foregone conclusiong that it'll be LA/SA and Bos/Miami, so I'm going to change it up a bit. I'm calling Boston/Chicago in the East. Joakim Noah isn't back yet and they're still playing pretty good ball. If they can pick up a legit 2 (ahem, Rip Hamilton), that's a contender. Still think we'll be getting Boston and SA in the finals unless LA or Dallas makes a big move. Trade deadline...what are the rumors so far? I've only heard the Melo stuff, but who else is on the block? |

I'm actually torn on that one, part of me says HELL YEAH...go after Melo if you can get him! I mean all the obvious reasons being that he's a marquee player, an unbelievable scorer in his prime and would be a great person to pass the torch to once Kobe hangs up his sneaks! On the other hand we lose size, rebounding and more important than shot blocking, but shot "altering" which Bynum does do a great job on when he's playing aggressive. The downside to that is Bynums health and his inability to play a complete season. It seems once he finally goes on a tear and puts a good month together of solid basketball he finds away to turn into "Mr. Glass" and gets hurt! I know what I'm about to say is Laker blasphemy to other die hard fans, but if I'm keeping it real.....the real issue is D-Fish as much as I love the guy he can't keep ANYONE in front of him! He's just too damn old (in basketball years) and slow to be an effective "starting" point guard! So basically as much as I would like to see Melo in a Laker jersey I think our real issue is at the 1 spot
