Keeping out all that silly stuff that ended up in the other SW discussion let's talk it over like the mature and rational nerds we are.
Sith or Jedi? Both seem to have promising aspects and I'm sure that certain personalities would gravitate to a certain side for various reasons. i.e. not because red sabers are cool...or good for the sake of being "good". As much as I want to say Sith....can you trust your fellow dark lords? Would you chose being a "peace keeper" even if it meant hanging out with a bunch of weirdos in their pajamas? Let's take it to the polls, give thought to your choice....."use the force". |

I have to go for the underdogs and vote for the Sith. I'd just have to be the most ruthless one of the bunch to keep them in line or cut off their heads if they got out of hand.

I was kind of hoping we would vote on things under a general rule of thumb. To put it in better perspective: Obi-Wan Jedi Vs. "his era" Sith Lords. |

As for Sith or Jedi....honestly I think the path lies just south of the Knights of the Old Republic...yeah you should try to do the right thing, but those Jedi seemed blinded by following only what they we're taught and never thinking outside of the box. I give you Obi Wan as an example...why would he need to consult with Yoda about the missing Kamino from the Archives? I mean you trust Jax enough to bring the dart to him for identification, yet when he gives you the damn location it never occurs to you that someone removed that info from the databanks? And thus maybe the info about the dart was removed as well. And since two pieces of Data are missing its hard to believe that's coincidence. Even Yoda makes the connection that it has to be more than coincidence....worse yet we have two clear cut issues of someone tampering with records and later a mysterious order for a Clone army from a dead Jedi Master that NO ONE authorized for the Republic....which by the way makes no sense why would a Jedi have authorization to demand an Army for the Republic when their totally seperate entities. And for that matter where were the funds for this Army coming from? I assume the Republic. Yet no one makes connections to Dooku or Palpatine...or at least someone in the Republic government.......not even Yoda. No I'm not sure being a rank and file Jedi or even Master is a good thing, its kind of a blind unquestioning trust....I'm not saying follow the Sith teachings, but apparently Old Republic Jedi just don't have the ability to think beyond what they have been taught. Now if we move into the New Jedi Order founded by Luke Skywalker, I think that follows a more grounded path....I mean first of all children aren't removed from their families like the old Order....say what you will but one of the problems Anakin faced was that he essentially abondoned his mother...their literally was NO attempt to free her after he was freed...what sort of compasion does that show? Its pretty cold...Palpatine had some valid points about the Jedi...don't get me wrong yeah he twisted those points to his own agenda (which is what any good Sith does) but never the less they were valid. I guess I would go with Jedi, but I'm not sure I'd be with the Order if I couldn't question things properly. It just seems to me that if the Jedi had simply been better at what they did (investigating, troubleshooting and problem solving which is something their often asked to do) we could have avoided Palpatine's reign. |

Alright...this is what I get for reading only Heir To The Empire...Legacy, some Boba Fett and Crimson Empire I and II...(which made me almost an instant loyal subject of Kir Kanos only because HE was such a loyal badass)
Now...what's good recomended reading for Luke's Jedi Order? |
