Dear ensoniq,
i have a problem. the auction lists the item as "A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item," but it can be seen that the item is clearly damaged inside the package. i noticed in less than 5 seconds after i opened the priority mail box. and the damage can't be seen in the tiny picture provided with the auction. - russell_cv

Dear russell_cv,
Hello, did the package come damaged? I know that the toy was in brand new condition when I packed it. If damage occurred during shipment, I added the free insurance on the package, so you should be able to get reimbursement through USPS. Let me know if you have any questions, and maybe I can help. Thanks. - ensoniq

Dear ensoniq,
the package was not damaged. the item inside the package was damaged. the problem is that this was clearly visible from the outside of the package within 5 seconds of looking at the toy. it is a significant chip on one of the roof portions of the vehicle. i dont think its right to list an item as new and undamaged when it was clearly damaged. - russell_cv

so tankers, my question is, how f***** is this?
second question is, isnt it the seller's responsibility to deal with usps, not the buyer if it was damaged in shipment, (which in this case it wasnt.) just curious for future reference there.

And as to it being damaged in package. I've had figures break apart in the bubble (especially 98-00 era joes o-rings) while they were in transit. It's more prevalent in winter when these things get brittle in the cold when they are shipped from sort to sort. So it's not impossible that what he's saying is true. I've had it happen twice to me in the past couple months. Last edited by Roshan; 01-20-2011 at 01:39 AM.. |

it is a newer transformer toy, it really looks to me like there was no way for this to happen during shipping. it is a significant (2.5 cm) slice/chip off a portion of the figure and the chip doesnt appear to be inside the sealed box anywhere. its right on the roof of the car and clearly visible.
thanks for the info though. i dont think usps would refund anything because im sure theyd come to the same conclusion i have. it wasnt their fault.

was the package/bubble/card sealed?
there was no damage whatsoever to the external packaging? I got a bubble mailer once that looked fine but the figure inside was shattered. Couldnt tell from the outside of the mailer what happened. you said the damage wasnt visible on the auction pic so I dont think theres a case there Which figure was it? I collect most TFs and would be happy to go see how easily it breaks, given freezing temperatures etc. Ive got glue lets experiment, send me a message if you are interested and or dont want to reveal here. Is there an auction link still? -Judge for ourselves and make an educated guess, and or make sure not to buy from this person.

Dear ensoniq,
ok, i checked the picture very carefully again, and i can tell it is there now that i know what im looking for. it is on the roof on the passenger side portion of the u-shape. so it was damaged before you sent it. holding this in your hand and looking at it you needed to see that and make sure you didnt list the item as undamaged. - russell_cv
