It's the time of year when being a single parent (or parent, homeowner, vagabond, whatever) finally pays off. I'm talking about tax returns. IRS starts processing today, and hopefully copious amounts of money are coming to you and yours (like Llama).

I don't care what you're getting back, I want to know what you're going to splurge on Besides throwing most of it into my 'house down payment' savings and financing my trip to JoeCon this year, I'm planning on getting the PoC stuff that I have not picked up yet. Also, I'm debating on getting a few older lego castle sets.

So Hisstank, what are you getting with your refund?

I usually end up paying, but it's fine. I'd rather come to find I need to pay a little than give the gov't an interest free loan for a year. Put that money to work for me instead of them.

kids dont pay as well as they did 2 years ago :( stupid changes in tax laws.

our total household income was cut in half (thank you recession) and so we will get money back but i am not expecting alot. It will be going twords my new house (down payment) or twords my mustang that i am finishing up (to sell for money to put twords the new house)

EXACTLY!!!! If you get a "refund" then have your taxes adjusted and pay at the end of the year instead of giving out a free loan. If you get back $1200, then have your taxes adjusted so you bring home an extra $100 a month. Put it into a savings and make a little bit off it. Giving a free loan, ESPECIALLY to the government, is something Id rather not do.

I pay every year, but Id rather do that than get a "refund" on money I coulda used during the year. I just put a little aside every month to plan for it, plus I run like 4 businesses so I have to pay no matter what.

I dont think mine will be anything crazy this year, but seriously...the next few months I have some goodness planned.

Between tax return and fingers crossed I start the new job by Feb I am def taking a few hundred bux and going ape-shit.

Everything from the Target Rancor I never got, to some MOTUC and Im sure Joe for good measure.

If my tax return blows and I dont get this job for whatever reason...I'll probably just get that stuff anyway...but totally be in debt

Whatever I get back I'll put it all toward Lottery tickets. When I win, I'll pack up all my Joes and get the frack out of this country. I love America, but I can't stand all the political BS, that's ruining this country.

Interesting that there is no actual law that you have to pay taxes, but if you don't pay, well let's not go there. I wonder if anyone here on the 'Tank' can actually find, in writing, that there is a law that you have to pay taxes.
