Sorry to hear man, I have the opposite luck with home ownership. Our roof and siding were pretty old when we bought it. One year in the roof started to leak, one month later we had a massive hail storm come through and I got a check for $30,000 to replace the roof the siding and the windows due to hail damage.

Plumber found the flange cracked which lead to the leak. Half the floor is torn up and part of the sub floor will need to be replaced as well since the damage is pretty bad.
On the plus side, he isn't charging me to pull up the downstairs toilet to look at it and make sure there is no other issues with it. Current cost is $1,550 and climbing |

It does-once you reach the deductible. Thus far-all this comes out of my pocket until I reach it. We will be very close to it though.

Right-I am on the hook for the first $5,000. Anything over that and the insurance coers it. Now, I have a higher deductible so I can get a lower rate. If I change that, I will lower my deductible but the rate will increase per year.

Well the damage is done. Need to get the floor contractor in here to get a quote to replace the floor. Once that is done, I can get the toilet put back into place.
My neighbor has been gutting her house for the last few months and has several contractors over there. I mosied on over and got the number of her tile guy. |
