True but a lot of people question "platonic" friendships because they may feel the average man and the average woman has very little in common to base a friendship off of in the first place.

Trying to control such things in a relationship will only hinder it. More to the point, if a girl is a cheater, she's going to cheat, it won't matter if she has dude friends or not. If she's normally not a cheater, and has dude friends and you nix those friendships because of your shortcomings and insecurities in a relationship, you're probably looking at reason #1 why they will cheat.

Yeah well my wife isn't one of those people who think that way nor would I ever marry someone so short sighted as to have the opinion that men and women don't have enough in common to form a friendship.

The reason is Facebook/My Space it makes it easier for people to cheat.
If your in a relationship you should not even be on those sites... they make it to easy to reconnect with an ex or someone from your past. You have some problems in your real life so you go online to get away from it and someone that you remember from your past pops up and you think wow this would be great to rekindle something with this person. So the fantasy that it would be better sometimes drives a person to try it and usually when they do it's no better, but at this point the damage is done. In my opinion the social networking sites are a huge help in ending relationships because they make it easy... in the past it wasn't that easy to reconnect with someone or that easy to meet someone new. Hope that guy feels good about himself when my buddy's 10 yr old son cries almost daily that his parents aren't together. |

Most people these days look for the easy out. A generation ago divorce was no where near where it is now. People are weak. Some weaker than others. Till death do you part? Yeah right. More like Till inconvenience do you part. That's why marriage is a meaningless institution.
