It was a tough choice, but I have to go with the
prince of darkness. The creature from the black lagoon always looked cool to me, probably the coolest looking of them all. The rest of them are just OK. |

Ive always found it interesting that certain Characters that were originally not connected will be thrown together in the same universe. And once it happens, they become forever intertwined, like the Universal monsters, Aliens vs Predator, Godzilla, Mothra and King Kong, The Lone Ranger, Zorro and Tarzan. Here's a strange one: Flash Gordon, the Phantom, And Mandrake the magician!

I've never really found the Universal Classics Monsters all that interesting, its more my wife's bag. She loves those.
I'm more of a Myers, Voorhees, Freddy guy. But I will say I do enjoy the Universal remakes of the Mummy films and especially the recent Wolfman remake. |

Dracula...who is, well, one of my favorite doucheboats.
Especially when he reminds me of an anime character/vk artist... Although I'm excited about Universal making a feature film of "Monster High", which is about their daughters...and that series is going to add Operetta, Erik's daughter, to the line.

Wolfman for sure. I grew up on Universal Monsters watching Creature Double Feature every weekend with my grandfather. Had all the toys from the late 70's. My gramp was/is also a huge Abbott & Costello fan, so we watched all those movies too. You want a great movie, watch Abbott & Costello meet Frankenstein. HILARIOUS!
I was most afraid of the Creature From the Black Lagoon though. We had a camp on Maines largest lake when I was a kid, thats also 300' deep and when we'd see Creature in the summer, I would be scared shitless to go swimming. I think in terms of scary, its Creature, Wolfman, Frankenstein, Dracula then Mummy. |

As of the Benicio Del Toro movie, definitely the Wolfman.
Vampires are classy (or pretentious emo prats depending on who you ask), zombies are threatening en masse, Creature wanted to get laid, Frankenstein has never been done perfectly (Karlof was the right build, DeNiro the right acting ability, need someone who's the best of both). Wolfman? No complex motivation there. Wolfman will simply f*** your shit up and eat whats left. No ifs, ands, or buts. Doesn't matter who he is in the daylight, when that change happens you better gtfo of town or lock yourself in a bomb shelter and nothing short of a silver bullet (which are notoriously inaccurate and don't even do much damage compared to lead) can possibly stop him. Hell, most stories even have vampires (at least the non-ancient ones) being afraid of these bastards. Last edited by Zefram; 11-23-2010 at 03:24 PM.. |
