Now I just drive my old Cherokee but I am a HUGE F-body guy.
2nd Gen Trans-Ams are my favorites. My 1st car was a 1981 Trans-Am. It was only a 305 but it had a competiton cam, edlebrock high rise manifold...and I forget the model of the Holly. Full flowmasters, and 12 bolt posi...and leaky t-tops It was a 4 speed and after I burnt out 2 clutches I put a centerforce in it and that helped. Then I had a 1968 Mustang. Primer pony...never really got into it, kept it for a summer and traded it for a 1980 Trans Am. The 80 looked nice but was a 301 DOG!!....No matter what I did that car was just a piece of dogshit! Then I got a 88 Trans AM GTA...and that was just a beautiful car. White with maroon interior, black honeycomb wheels and FAST!.....Once it hit about 120,000 it needed a rear main seal and a bunch of other stuff so I traded it. I traded the GTA for a 1989 Chevy K5 Blazer. 3" body lift, 33" tires, cragar rims, flowmaster cat-back, 3 speed manual with granny low...put in a Grant steering wheel and a CB that never worked....went 4 wheeling in it and 2 weeks later my front wheel busted off. Not kidding, on Christmas eve passing a mall I went skidding across the street on 3 wheels because I busted it up 4 wheeling. That was the end of my cool cars. From there I got a Chevy Celebrity.....and a motorcyle, but thats for another thread |

Big time. I grew up in a racing family and everyone had Impalas, Chevelles, Cudas, Satellites, Mercs, etc. We had an awesome Laguna S-3 454 when I was a kid. Had the pimp swivel seats that all the rappers have now and say, "Yo caar aint gut dat!"
My favorite cars are Lead Sleds & Rat Rods. My gramp had a bad-ass 49 Merc that was chopped, channeled, louvers all over the rear deck lid, etc. I put about 15K into building one about 13 years back but sold it to become semi-retired (at age 23, lmao). I now have that car tattooed on the inside of my thigh. I dont know, Im a car freak. American muscle like Pontiacs and Plymouths are my favorite. The 64 Goat, 69 Firebird, 70 AAR, etc. I really like Pontiacs and then Plymouths second. Im also an obscure car guy, like a '67 Mercury Comet Cyclone GT 427. I know where there is one right now, and when the owner is done with her, Ive got first dibs. Its a MONSTER of a sleeper. Sleepers are another passion of mine. Something about the grocery-getter that can smoke anything it lines up next to. You know, that 70's blue, orange-peel paint, vinyl top, pizza-cutter red-line tires, etc. Im a serious muscle car freak. Last edited by bigvig; 11-21-2010 at 12:43 AM.. |

My 1st car was a 1972 Pontiac GTO with a 400 CI, 4 speed. I had that for about 10 years. I had a pretty heavily modified 455 built for it, that was a lot of fun till it imploded. LOL
I had an 85 Mustang 5.0. It was a really good and reliable car but it was automatic and so for me it was kind of boring. I couldn't tell you why I bought an automatic because I am a huge stick man. Then after playing Gran Turismo 1 I got into the idea of being able to go fast not only in a straight line but around turns too. I bought a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS with the 6 speed. Only front wheel drive but that car was sooo much fun. I really loved that car and boy could it rev. I had exhaust and an intake for it plus custom wheels and a body kit. Now I have a 2004 Subaru WRX STI. Exhaust, up-pipe, down-pipe, ECU upgrade, short throw shifter, springs, custom rims, and also had a custom paint job (Dark metallic grey), and I’m sure there’s more things but I can't remember. Oh I also had it pro-tuned. It is a great car, love it. The types of cars I get most excited about are the ones I can’t afford, super/exotic type cars. Lamborghinis have been and probably always will be at the top of my list. Although I wouldn’t mind having a koenigsegg or a Zonda. |

Speaking of sleepers...a guy I worked with ended up with a 75 Cutlass Supreme on his lot. He said it ran, had that Olds "Rocket" 350, started right up...just needed a bit of body work for that plastic trim above the bumpers.
It was like a metallic blue with sky blue interior...I too love those 70's colors. (You're talking to a guy that still owns a metallic gold flake 3/4 motorcycle helmet). Anyway he wanted 500.00 for the car and I basically thought..Ok, Im gonna slap a set of cragars on this puppy and drive it everyday, building it as I go. Right before payment we put it on the lift, and if that car so much as hit a bump, it was gonna crack in 1/2......Never got the car. I was pretty bummed about that. For whatever reason I really like Oldsmobiles and Buicks from that era. |

In all honesty...I saw Smokey and The Bandit when I was 5 or 6 and started with Hot Wheels.
I even dig the old Bonnevilles! My grandmother had a Maroon one in the early 80's...even then I thought that car was cool!! My dad had a 74 Monte Carlo growing up. I remember he told me he bought that instead of a Chevelle because he had to take care of his mom and it was easier getting in and out of the Monte Carlo. I would've loved the Chevelle...but I have NOTHING but great memories driving around in that Monte with pops... with Storm Shadow in my pocket! |

I grew up on hot rods and muscle cars, my first car at 14 was a 1967 Mustang. I have owned many classics and rods but looking into getting a rat myself. I work for Coker tire and we are surrounded all day by cool cars.

here's some picks of my kids, the Buick is parked for an engine transplant next summer, its a 73' Century and my pride and joy WIP the 454 70' Monte Carlo. The pic with both of them is old the suspension on the Monte was shot when I bought it. Replaced shocks, springs, and control arms the rear tires now clear the wheel wells.
