Ok, so I've been a fan of Oakley sunglasses for years now. Hell, I still have the first pair of Frogskins that I bought back in 1990. So, after a few months of crap, I decided that I wanted to treat myself to something.
What says 'me love' more than a new pair of custom sunglasses. So I order them up from Oakley on 9/21 and they showed up last night. It looks like a drunken hobo glued them together. Look at the pics. That is absolutely horrible. So I called customer service and they said that they had to "re-do" them. Which entails. Me mailing them back, they are sending me a UPS slip which may take 2 to 3 business days. Once they receive them, they will process the return, and I should have my money back in 2 to 3 weeks! After that, I'm free to place a new order. Holy shit, talk about insane. So I ask, that I'm now out of my money and or my glasses for a potential 6 to 7 weeks? And the guy tells me that I can order new glasses now, they will charge me for them, and then I can 'recoup the money on the back end when they refund me' I have corporates phone number now, let the complaints begin....

Sounds like a dispute for your credit card company!!! I'll often use my credit card company to force the issue and get my satisfaction now. Let them duke it out and resolve it on there own. Recently did this with Entertainment Earth. They knowingly, and willingly shipped to the wrong address and claimed it was my fault...BofA stepped in and fixed it up for me when they were unwilling to budge.

My brother was a big fan of them while he was in the army. I can't really comment on their past or present quality, but the situation is representative of what happens when most retail companies become successful. Customer Service and quality go right out the window once they've established themselves for those very reasons. "The customer is always right" is the motto when they're building a brand. "Go F@ck yourself" becomes their attitude after they've achieved their goal.

Sorry but American Customer Service sucks on the whole, in fact you don't have any - I am originally from England have worked Customer Service most of my life, and if I was to speak to a Customer like American Customer Reps do that I have dealt with I would be sacked on the spot.
Hasbro's reps are the best at non-customer service. |

I had a friend who had the same problem with them, They still love Oakley but just only buy them at the stores now so they can inspect them first.

I'd never order anything like that online. I want to wear 'em, see 'em, touch 'em, etc...
There's very few things I'd order online. Stuff that the final quality doesn't matter as much (books for example). I've had the same pair of Oakleys for the last 12 years. Love 'em. Great glasses. I also have a cheap pair I use for biking, canoeing, etc... Anything that can result in my expensive glasses getting ruined, lost, broken, etc..

Are they prescription or plano? Sunglass Hut, Dicks, and Lenscrafters all carry that specific frame in store.
What, specifically is custom about those? Did you get a special lens? It should only take a week for them to replace that frame for you. I deal with Oakley on a weekly basis and literally have never had anything bad to say about their customer service other than long waits on the phone. |

I remember back when I was in Kuwait in the 90's they were all the rage. Always looked like cheap plastic sh*t to me. I stuck with my Ray-Bans.

I've seen some people still wearing Oakley Razor Blades... the ones with the rainbow tint too... and of course... the fanny pack. To be fair they could be time travelers though. LOL.
