WTF is going on?? Anyone else getting smashed by these things?
They are CRAZY here in MD. Worse than the Cicada Locusts of a few years back, they are everywhere.. I have been at war for 2 nights now, deathtoll well over 400 and counting. Two fists of Dyson and a backpocket of speedy death to these infesting hoards. They are insane. AND they stink.

i've been dealing w/the little buggers for 3 years now,but not quite in the numbers i'm hearing from people in the area. i usually just crush em in a napkin or something and flush them. vacuums are also effective, and way more fun if you have the right attachment. i think the stink is not quite as bad as people make it out to be,although i'm not dealing w/400 at once.just don't smash them

I did not know what they were till I saw them on the news.
I've been killing at least 2-3 every night since the start of the summer and I guess I wasn't crushing them all the way since I did not smell anything. Now that the story broke, I have yet so see any near my house. There was a whole bunch at the metro rail though.

I didn't realize it was biblical. But now that you mention it, they have been all over the place here. We just moved into a new apartment and all the bugs have been really bad since the place backs up against woods with a stagnant creek, but the bugs you're talking about are in the house, on the windsheilds of our cars, all over the mailboxes, at work, on the sidewalks. Interesting. Another thing to criticize about this place. Cheers.

Don't have them where were at. Japanese Beetle's are about the only issue we've been having lately.

Cicadas are cool used to catch them as a kid we pronounced them here Chi-Charras I dunno why? Funny thing bout Stinkbugs buddy of mine and me back in our jr high days went to a local high school football game. He was drinking a soda w/o a lid on plastic glass one of those damn things flew in drink by accident he bit it thinking was crushed ice he quickly puked it out and that guy needed an entire bottle of listerine and tube of toothpaste to kill smell on his breath.

they are awful here... they creeped in from an open window and took over a room, luckily it was easy to segment off and carry out critical Stinkbug tac op's ...
They are dead dead dead now.

our house is surrounded, we are outnumbered by a vastly larger army. at any given time there are about 20 buzzing around our house. i kill/get rid of at least 20-30 a day as well.
check your car as well. they coat the inside door jambs of our suv daily. the door seal keeps them out of the suv but you have to whack 20 or so off the jambs before you feel safe to enter the vehicle. to this day we still have two stuck in our dome light, dead of course. they seem to peak about mid afternoon. at this point they literally cover the surface of the back of our house. it's absolutely disgusting. i HATE these with a passion. i grew up here, lived her most of my life and these have only been a problem the last couple years and each year it gets worse so i'm not hopeful about a pleasant solution. i literally woke up one night to one crawling on my face. the next day i bought a couple tubes of removeable caulk and sealed the entire screen to the window. be sure to leave weep holes for moisture to escape. this has 100% fixed the problem with them getting into our bedroom. we have LOTS of windows in the house so i have not gotten far in sealing the perimeter. our defenses are still weak and the enemy continues to infiltrate. they do stink. it's not bad when your talking one or two but when you have a dozen crawling around your window and they get spooked, it stinks like hell. best solution i've found is to ensure your door weatherstipping is tight and fully sealed when the door is closed. if you have loose window screens with gaps, even s small as a paperclip, they get through. i don't know what it is about maryland but we are being over run in some locales. i've heard stories from exterminators about houses full of them with the owners literally in tears. it really is getting to biblical proportions for some.
