I think that would be a mistake to have OBL and Cobra connected. For several reasons. If we are playing "pretend" here and Bin Laden were in the GI Joe world I think Cobra might try to take advantage of it but Cobra Commander's ego would get in the way of his spotlight being taken. He would wonder why these people could do so much with box cutters and he can't even come close with all his hiss tanks, bats, weather dominators and MASS devices.

yeah I do think that would be in poor taste. I mean not dancing with him in a cave in a rap video kind of poor taste, something much worse. I mean if you think about it would you want to buy your kids an OBL toy?

I don't see it happening anytime soon or if ever at all. However I wouldn't mind seeing Snake Eyes kicking OBL's ass |

One option to really put CC over the top is to make OBL a front and a scapegoat and have CC to be the real planner of the attacks. There again though, I don't know how tastefull that would come across and if it would be accepted.
also that Captain America pic is awesome! |

they did something else in DC that was inspired by 9/11. In THE DARK KNIGHT STRIKES AGAIN somebody flew a flying batmobile into the Daily Planet and it came down like the WTC. It killed Lois and needless to say Superman was pissed.
or I heard something like that.... don't know, I don't read Frank Miller's stuff |

yeah I was more talking about how it's approached. Obviously with the war on terror, 9/11 has been a constant topic every day since it happened.
I guess I'm more interested in how it relates to G.I.Joe. What would you think/feel if there ever was a joe comic that involved the 9/11 attacks and maybe even featured Osama and Cobra? Having said that, I don't see any need for it to be a part of G.I. Joe. Why muddy the imaginary waters of G.I. Joe, a place I enjoy escaping into, with the mindless, pedal-slapping, armband politics of the world we actually encounter every time we log on to the net; crack open a magazine or newspaper; dare to tune into talk radio; pick a book off the best-seller list; or watch a movie? |
