I'd report the asshole when I usually list the item and shipping its for the lowest rate plus the cost to buy the shipping box/envelope which is very minor in cost some of which is covered if you choose priority. but to me this just seems like a cold case of douchery and the guy needs to be put into place report him through e-bay even contact someone over the phone about it and hopefully some good will be brought out of your crummy situation.

I think some sellers charge a lot on shipping to bypass Ebay fees. If you agreed to his outrageous shipping cost that is your flaut. I don't bid on those auctions.
Only way you can have a case against him is if he promised one type of shipping but went with a different option. And really that is the only legit gripe the buyer has - he got lied to about priority shipping by the dishonest seller. Because he did NOT get screwed or ripped off financially. What he paid was what he had to pay if he wanted the item. If he didn't pay that amount, then the guy he outbid would have paid it (minus the buck or whatever difference between winning bid and the next high bid). He got the figures too, so he didn't get screwed out of the item either. Essentially the only negative was that he was lied to and told to get lost. Oh well. The only party that got ripped off financially was ebay. They lost fees. But oh well. Well he said his issue was not about the cost, it was about the "principle" of not getting priority mail shipping with tracking and being lied to about it.

I think some guys are missing the point: He said he knew it was going to be $29.99 and AGREED to it because it was going to be Priority with tracking. IT WASNT! He sent it first class (or whatever) and pocketed the rest. He even said he didnt mind overpaying, but not that much and for something he agreed to and didnt receive.
Listen, we all know half of ebay (if not more) is BS. Stuff is either overpriced or shipping is overpriced. I used to charge the exact amount for Priority with delivery confirmation which actually made me lose money because I had to use my printer, my tape and my gas and time to mail it, so I lost money on everything I sold. I sold my figs at a fair market value, so I literally made no money. On top of that I would receive emails all the time crabbing about how the guy wanted to bid but refused to pay $6.35 or whatever for Priority with delivery confirmation, just send it first class. Sure, then there is no record of it arriving, Im out a figure and the guy files a complaint and gets a refund. My point it ebay is a racket, period. I know there are some honest sellers on there, but I see TONS of BS Joe sellers on there all the time. You know who is shill bidding, over pricing, excessive shipping, etc. It doesnt take a nuclear physicist to figure it out. The guy paid for something and didnt receive it. Thats a pretty simple concept to wrap your brain around. |

Dude, not at all. You can inform Ebay, then charge him back through your bank for the money, and your bank will charge the sellers bank for the money, no questions asked. Trust me, your own Bank is YOUR Homie, they ALWAYS have your back in these types of situations. I PROMISE! When he tries to inform Ebay that he priced shipping at 25+ bucks and he shipped it for $6, what are they going to tell him?
