remember that car of mine?i been bummed all week as it was running a bit off, figured it was a coil pack or something but while it was on the lift, they seen it,terminal cancer.the cars rockers are going,i knew that, intended on fixing them next year but no holes in body or floorboards. its the firewall where the suspension bolts on,its gone!!!!!!!:( i've had that car since new in 1996 and was great for first 14,years.the last year i have had more money in repairs than i had in first 14 years alltogether. what hurts is i just bought a nice classic truck,a 1970 chevy c20 and had to extend a personal loan and have a payment on my polaris so no money for a car right now and there is no way i am taking my truck out in winter, its solid all the way through. so now my collection will be going up for sale,a little at a time,i'll just put them on ebay as i sort them.i was planning on selling it anyways, just sucks i might have to borrow my moms minivan when winter comes. god i'll miss that car. but hey,any of you southerners know where a mid 90's grand am is sitting, solid but with blown engine for cheap?i had that idea since engine is still strong.other than that i dont know what route i'm going yet for another car, depends on how much molah i get from ebay.

i might try for a wrecked hhr panel wagon,i know a dealer who deals in wrecks,i was thinking get a pretty new vehicle that hasnt started into the rust stage and rhinoline the fudge out of the bottom, then undercoat the fudge out of the rhino lining.
but sisnce it seems like they use sulfuric acid on the roads, doubt it work.:p

Sheet metal can always be cut out and replaced. Did my entire floor pan and rockers on my '99 XJ this summer. If you love it that much and the rest of it is good, sheet metal is a hell of a lot cheaper than another vehicle, even if you need to hire someone to do it. Just gotta look at the big picture and dont get personally attached (I know Id cry if I had to junk my XJ for any reason).

So let me get this straight......you have payments on an antique truck you refuse to take out in the winter, and a snowmobile. Yet you dont have a reliable year round daily driver now? I would reconsider my priorities if I were you.

You should save that hood and put it up on the wall of your garage (or something like that). A cool reminder of your car!

as for priorities, bought the RZR,not a snomobile in 2009 while grand am was still great underneath.3 months ago the car was inspected and passed.they must not of put it on the lift, just jacked it up to pull tires to look at brakes. in the meantime i was in need of a truck to pull my rzr, always used my dads van and my parents usually go to camp on weekends so i decided to get a truck.i wasnt going to settle for a 10 year old truck halfway to its grave, just needed it for spring, summer and fall so i thought, why not a classic, easy repairs and nice body styling in stead of a truck with hole all through it and costly repairs.i figured a faily solid truck in need of paint and interior but still drivable would be great.then i came acroos this beuty.a 1970 chevy C-20 with a 350 and 4 speed tranny. after seeing it was a southern truck with no holes and VERY freakin solid i said hell yeah even though i wanted a 60's c-10 stepside or a dodge stepside.but itdont need paint, just interior and some new side markers and lenses. it wasnt till last monday the noticed it while putting a new catalytic converter on(the original one).so this was a surprise,i knew the rockers were getting soft and would need replaced by next year or two.i should be able to raise up to 2 grand for a cheapo but i got a guy looking for a wrecked hhr panel for me since he is a dealer, might get one for less than 5k or 6k total. a big plus for me is my place of work is right next door.:p
