I had a pretty unique experiance this past Thurs night (2/17/11) and I thought I would share it with you guys...
Awhile ago, I'm not even sure how it started...I think I was just admiring some of fellow Tanker RedEyes work and we chatted a few times. I know there was a pretty good chat one evening about old Terminator toys and the next thing you know we were checking out each other's links to our bands. When he told me he liked my band I was just like "oh ok cool"...then I figured out who his band was, who HE was and honestly I was almost "star struck" Whether you guys know it or not...RedEyes is the guitarist for what is probably the best current Hardcore/Metal act out there. If you're into that kind of music and don't know who Full Blown Chaos is...you gotta be living under a rock. If you are into that scene then you know FBC is pretty much setting the standards these days. Hell my band looks for FBC cds to influence...again Im a fan and I couldn't believe he was a Tanker. One thing led to another in chat and we texted, FB'd etc...next thing you know he's on tour about 1 hr 30 min from my house and I wasn't gonna miss that shit. I got down to the venue with my friend/guitarist and I can honestly say it was one of the coolest experiances I've had in a long time...1st of all I'm meeting a Tanker for the 1st time. 2nd of all I'm meeting a Tanker who happens to be in one of my favorite bands...so as a toy collector, metal fan, metal vocalist...do the math. Anyway I get down there and I meet RedEyes and he was the REALEST motherf*cker you ever met. For as big and well known as FBC is...both he and his vocalist Ray were the most down to earth, gracious hosts you could ever meet. We chatted for awhile outside about everything from the Tank, to collecting, to music, to some off topic, personal stuff and it always came back to toys! On top of all this, he was generous enough to have us on the guest list when we got there. FBC played their set and it was off the hook...they were tight, loud, professional and I was just beyond f'ing inspired to write something when they were done. I went home with a shirt and the new cd--which by the way has a shout out to Hisstank.com in his liner notes. I thought about the whole thing today and really still couldn't wrap my head around how f'ing cool our conversation was...and how in the end...this all happened because of G.I.Joe. I literally ended up meeting and making friends with someone all because of the Tank and Joes. Before last night it was like "Wow, there's a dude from FBC on the Tank!" Then it was "I chat with a Tanker from FBC" With how awesome RedEyes is, and chatting about everything from Street Fighter II Joe to real life situations when I came home I thought..it's more like "My friend is the guitarist in Full Blown Chaos and we both collect toys"-- I just had to share this story with guys because again...this all happend due to G.I.Joe and The Tank. Anyway.... If you like heavy music, get out there and support Full Blown Chaos!! You will not be dissapointed! If you get lucky enough to hang with em you probably wont be able to wrap your head around how guys so f'ing nice can melt your face off 2 min into turning their amps on. The greatest sentence I've heard in a long time came from their vocalist Ray last night..."Tell everyone in the other room to stop wiping their p*ssy's and get the f*ck in here so they can get their faces punched off"--lol...off the HOOK! Anyway enough of my babble...here are some pics of our boy doing his thing...and the last one is us after a lengthy toy/music/life chat. Thanks for everything Mike...look fwd to it when you guys roll through again! Start of the set... Tearin it up... Ray and co. "waking demons!" View from the bar..(that kid's fist was in my nuts by the way) Most important...RedEyes and PitViper after an awesome conversation before the start of the set. |

keep on rockin' in the free world, PV.
that is a sick @ss story. RedEyes is cool as shiz. a fellow stoner, rocker, and toy collector. it doesn't get any cooler than that in my book. i have you both as friends in my Tank list and i will always consider you blokes cool as fuck. congrats on your night. |

FBC is the bomb. And to think, I've seen them a ton of times and had no Idea I was in the same room with another tanker.

In a room filled with hardcore and death metal t-shirts...I was wearing a Wolverine shirt and he was in a Master Cheif shirt....it may have been easier to find the Tankers in that room lol.

I'd probably lie and say I had no idea what the Tank is like I usually do when approached.
