How many of you have joined me in this hell?
What was it like for you? Did it knock you out of collecting utterly? I guess not if you're reading this. ::shrugs:: The water heater in my apartment burst on Monday. I've been moving all week to a new unit in the complex. I lost about $1000 worth of MISB Lord of the Rings stuff. Fortunately, I do have insurance. Still... My new place is a little bigger and I'm buried under Rubbermaid totes loaded with action figures, and let's just say I'm having a moment right now. It doesn't help that I'm reading Conan novels right now and reflecting on the barbarian lifestyle of not being tied down to one place by mountains of baubles and trinkets.

Ah the freedom of NOT collecting shit. If Star Wars had never come back out with toys again I would have a small box of vintage SW figures that I could occasionally pull out and enjoy...

Yes been through it twice already and about to do it again. The 1st time I didnt have that much stuff so it wasnt a problem but the 2nd time was hell. The second time made me decide to get rid of alot of stuff and only keep and collect 25th ann and beyond. It also made me go from a moc collector to an opener. This move shouldnt be as bad because most of my stuff is already stored in 4 huge totes. I'll probably need 2 more and I'll be fine.

My Star Wars and Joe figures were ready to move; that's how I store them. My boyfriend doesn't let his musical shit dominate the living space and I would never let my collection encroach on our home decor. My collection means a lot to me, thus, I have no need to display it or beat people over the head with it by decorating my house with it. My love of Joes or Star Wars are personal. In some way, I resent how popular they are with other people. Especially since they can't really appreciate it the same way I do.
