Don't get one that might cause you to commit a typo when PMing Sarlaac, or you might get dirt thrown on you in the public forums.
Thus, my true gripe about the iPhone - the damn keypads are too fekkin' small and awkward for my freakishly wide thumbs. |

Droid X. Just got it last week, and I LOVE it. My first Smart Phone, though, so I don't really have anything to compare it to.

Iphone. I had one, and I loved it. Till I left it on my trunk lid, drove off without it, then ran over it on accident :-(

Although I hear good things about the Evo and Android, these are usually from Linux types who have completely scrubbed the original software and hack them to do... whatever it is hacked phones do (Call for free usually) Unless your doing a lot of buisiness apps then skip a Blackberry. My advice, and I have one, is the iPhone. It's heavy market share mean that the app options are literally in the millions. Games, tools, photos, video, GPS, real internet, Facebook, Ebay, etc etc . Oh, and it makes calls too.

I'm an IT professional and VERY LINUX oriented. So the EVO and Android serious appeal to me. I do use alot of apps. To be honest, I don't use my phone much to talk to people as much as to work as a handheld PC when I'm running around. I have alot of friends who have the iPhone. I also manage my music using iTunes. I like it, but really just the tech-geek me in does. I've shopped around service providers and each has it's pluses and minuses. And I know how service coverage on most. So the provider isn't an issue. What it's really coming down to is what phone.

Im getting an Iphone 4. If I can find one in stores. All the places around here are sold out, and I refuse to order through ATT by phone or internet.

I was in the market for a Smart phone too.
I felt that it was about time for me to have a better phone than my 7 year old niece and my 87 year old grandfather...LOL! Even though I am a "techie" I like to have a separate gadget for everything. I have a few MP3 players for my music, and a few handheld gaming systems for my video games. As for my phone I had a Sony Ericsson flip phone because it felt like a phone to me. It has MP3 player, but I never used it for music. It also has a camera, which I've used for spur of the moment pictures, but I rather use my digital camera instead. Here's the deal, I know how everyone likes to have a gadget that does everything, but I've always felt that those gadgets limit what each feature can do. Until now that is. It seems that with the release of the original iPhone there was finally a gadget worthy of doing almost everything you wanted it to without limiting its feature's capabilities. Yeah I know it has it's problems, but the fact that you can get up to 32 GB matches my MP3 player, and the internet use is better than what I ever could get using my PSP, or even having to lug around a laptop. The camera even takes decent pictures. This device made me start warming up to the idea of getting something that does everything, but I never got one. I guess that was mainly due to the fact that I never liked Apple. Now a few years after the iPhones first release there are many phones on the market that can do the same thing. This sparked my interest once again. The only problem now is the fact that these devices keep getting bigger and bigger, and they don't resemble a phone at all. I wanted a phone that felt liek a phone because lets face it the device is a phone first after all. That all changed when I began to use a bluetooth head set 2 years ago. I hardly ever use my phone without it, so I no longer really have the need for a phone to feel like a phone. So this gets me back to my newly found want for a Smart phone. last month I took a trip out west to Phoenix, and then I drove to Vegas on my way over to LA. Some of the hotels that I stayed in did not have wireless internet, or internet at all for that matter. Not even a guest computer in the lobby. I brought along my PSP on the trip to use for the internet while in my room, but it was pretty much worthless. This experience finally put me over the edge and I new it was time for a change. I am an AT&T customer and part of a family plan. As many of you know AT&T is pretty limited when it comes to Smart phones once you get past the iPhone. Don't get me wrong though because the iPhone 4 was tempting even with its signal problems, but like I said I don't like Apple products. In the end I decided to go with the new HTC Aria. It pretty much does everything I need it to do, and I especially love its small compact size. The only downfall that it had to me was the fact that the camera doesn't have a flash. I went ahead and ordered this phone this morning from Amazon.com for $49.99 and now I'm eagerly awaiting its 2-day shipment! When it comes down to it I suggest you figure out what phones your carrier offers, and then read and watch some reviews of the phones. I watched some videos on Youtube and it really helped. Enjoy whatever phone you choose!
