Go for it! I like your choice of mods, will be pricey though if do all of them, but worth it.
I used to have an '03 CLK55 AMG (W209). Didn't do anything to the engine/exhaust, but I did upgrade the suspension with PSS9 coilovers and F/R sway bars. Damn...I miss her!

If thats the car in the pic you posted, then whats wrong with the black rims on it already? I think black rims look really good on black cars and tinted tail lights are a nice thing on black cars too.
It doesn't come with HID? I added HID to my BMW, but it didn't come with it in that year. But, I would think it would on that model and year benz.

Ah yes the car days.
Meh Bitch in her glory days: Not sure how Merc's are as far as MAINT etc, but that is a smooth lookin ride you are eying there. Good luck on the purchase bro if you haven't already procured it. Acura/Honda has me as a customer for life as I have had 0 issues with this beast. This biatch is still dumped on a set of Koni Yellows and Neu Speed springs. I swapped out the calipers at a friend's house for some two piston'ed upgrades. Swapped out the rotors for some slotted ones and that's about as far as I went with it. Still remember the day I test drove this puppy, it was between that and a BMW 3 series coupe, which offered no leg room for someone who is a little taller. This was the deciding factor.

My Dad drove a '02 CLK55. He bought it new & ended up having a lot of "Chrysler" issues with it. Things like the electonic displays going out (expensive & time consuming fix), Squeaks and rattles, Headlight system going dead (he could only drive during the day for about a week until the repair could be scheduled), & several other annoyances one would expect to be non-existant in a Mercedes Benz. He got rid of it after about 3 years & went back to driving an Acura.

My boss (incidentally my brother’s father in law) had an ‘04 or '05 S class sedan. It cost almost 250 grand and nothing ever worked. It spent most of its life at the dealership. In the end he traded it on a Supercharged Range Rover Vogue and a Honda Accord. He still has the Range Rover but I don't know about the Honda. - Ian Last edited by Exciter; 07-14-2010 at 07:44 AM.. |

Cars for Sale: 2002 Mercedes-Benz CLK55 AMG Coupe in Seekonk, MA 02771: Coupe Details - 268779238 - AutoTrader.com I found out yesterday the dealer is advertising the car for a friend and merely taking a commision, which is why its dirt cheap. Guy seemed pretty legit, and he will be sending me more pix today. I think the HIDs were the next year when they changed the styling a bit, like Mcbaes up above. Ive had HIDs on my last 3 cars (the exception was the Lightning) and I cant live without em! Plus I found a nice set with black housing; that and a black grille and rims should eliminate some chrome and give it the stealth look Im going for. Quote:

I have to use it as a daily driver for now. Once I pick up something new this winter, I may turn it into a weekend car to play around at the track. I haven't done much to the exterior (no rice boy am I) I'll snag some pics later. It's Tornado red, dropped about 3 inches, have the black led/hid lights on the front, black grill and badging, black lights on the tail end. I snagged the fin from a black Wolfsberg edition from a friend. Neuspeed turbo upgrade, APR chip upgrade, cat back exhaust, upgraded the vac hoses, CAI, and some others. I'm not sure if I want to use this as a weekend burner, or look for a late 90's Eclipse/3000GT to play with.
