I like how you avoid a rebuttle to my GM argument. Look I am not going to debate this with you as I have had many debates in real life this week to commit to cyber debating. The facts are the facts and unions are extortionists, plain and simple. You even said you don't get representation your self. If you are in business the only thing that matters is capital. As a business owner you have to realize that you need talented people. Gov't intervention won't do anyhting to change that. Again pay and compensation are between employer and employee. And yes gov't should provide incentive for business owners to do business in their countries, how in the hell do you think the gov't can operate w/o businesses to pay taxes? And I don't know what I am talking about??? hahahahahahaha!!!!! Sorry but that statement is just laughable trooper.
Do you really think any business man gives a rats that he has "talented" people working for him enough to pay him a red cent more then he absolutely HAS to? If you do, then you're dreaming. He would gladly hire 3 foreigners to produce that work at 2/3rds of the cost, hurting his own countries economy and subjecting those foriegn workers to dangerous even deadly conditions to save that money. Here's a wake up. If you want to do business in this country then you should have to pay taxes. That's it. No more cutting deals to keep the rich, rich. If you take you business off shore, take your wares with you and gtfo. If that is too much then maybe they can start selling those 7 dollar figures to the workers in China they pay 15 cents an hour. I bet they'll sell like hot cakes, there.

DD, we've obviously got into dangerous territory so if you want to discuss this more feel free to PM me. I don't want to get someone else's thread locked down.

Believe me when I say this, but you're screwed no matter who you work for. I've worked in a plastic bottle manufactering plant that was unionzed, I've worked a major retail chain that was NOT unionized, and I've worked for the government as a subcontracter. I can assure you that in all three of those jobs they were all out for themselves, and had no interest in "the little guy".
With all the choices available I think I would choose the one that offered the most freedom/opprotunity, small business. Small businesses where you have day to day interactions with the owners, and the owners actually care about you and your family. THAT is the best company to work for, and that is who I work for now. |

Yes, eff the Union. I joined when I worked at UPS and they didn't do sh*t for me. All I ever heard (or saw) them do was throw a fit when a supervisor would get on their case about something. I even got hurt on the job and they didn't do sh*t but tell me I was hurt and better start looking for a new job, wtf?

Hasbro has already moved some of it's Transformers manufacturing to Vietnam. I imagine that Mexico would be next, before the US.
