I think this is the most peaceful board I read on a daily basis. Reading your posts is a relaxing time for me. You are all nice and respectful to each other in my opinion...mmm...maybe I should quit reading some of the other sites.

Agreed! I laugh when I see people get all bent out of shape and write the stuff they do to piss people off. So many people hide behind their computer and type inflammatory crap to hurt people. Some people need to grow the heck up!
I only talk to people on the net here and in game lounges. Gosh if you ever beat someone at a game you are automatically put down, called racist names, or whatever to hurt someone. Fun stuff! You go!

As you can tell from my post count, I don't post very often. I check out the forums about a dozen times a day (I get bored at work, lol). Typically, the grand majority of people I see on the boards are good folks and don't start crap. However, as is the case with everything, there are those who enjoy stirring up stuff wherever they go. This type of conduct is non-productive and does nothing to further the conversations that we all enjoy. Yeah, free speach blah blah blah... Get over it! Go stand in front of city hall or something... Those who provoke responses in others usually do so simply because it gets a response. I personally can't stand someone calling me out for my beliefs or practices. I try not to do that to others and get pissed when others get on my back about what I do or believe. I am sure most of you here are the same way - provoke me long enough and you will get a response. It is human nature. My point is that we should all try to ignore people and posts that are simply malicious and have no value to a conversation. Lets continue to push forward those conversations that have value and kill the ones that don't. If I wanted to argue with people who try to act higher and mightier than reality, I would call my 6-year-old nephew...
Do you all get what I am trying to say? I have a tendency to ramble a bit :-) |

#4 With all due respect, does the fact that we collect something intended for children mean we have to act like children as well?
I'd like to think that everyone is here for the same reason: to share their passion for G.I. Joe, however that may manifest itself in their lives, with others. A board with so many different and diverse members is bound to have contrasting opinions in equal numbers, but let's keep mom's old saying in mind: "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." Certainly there's at least one thing we can all agree on: YO JOE! |
