Well since a thread was started on Twilight Vs movies with more traditonal vampires I would ask what Vampire novels people like?
I simply adore the Vampire Genevieve: Amazon.com: The Vampire Genevieve (Warhammer Novels) (9781844162444): Jack Yeovil: Books And Anno Dracula: Amazon.com: Anno Dracula (9780380723454): Kim Newman: Books They're both by the same author though under two different names... I also really liked, The Tale of Meiji Dracula: Amazon.com: Dark Wars: The Tale of Meiji Dracula (9780345498816): Hideyuki which is by the author of Vampire Hunter D. All three books have a good mix of romance and adventure. And of course this list wouldn't be complete without the original "Dracula". |

I like the Noble Dead / Dhampir novels by Barb and J.C. Hendee: Amazon.com: Dhampir (Noble Dead) (9780451459060): Barb Hendee
They are fast easy reads with a lot of adventure and a hint of romance.

They are fast easy reads with a lot of adventure and a hint of romance. If you want an interesting take on the Vampire theme check out Sarah Ash - Tears of Artamon. The first book is The Lord of Snow and Sorrows. It's a fantasy based spin on the Dracula story, I found it to be really good.

Ooo... I read the first two books of that series and the first book is really good; I just liked how the relationships between certain characters slowly developed within the isolated setting. I never could find the third book at a used book store though (I only buy used paperbooks, lol), so I don't know how it ends.

I've read so many books, but I am racking my brain to think if any of them had any Vampire-iness in them so I can mention them in this thread. LOL. I am coming up empty; I've read mostly only Fantasy and Sci-fi stuff.

I hate when that happens. That's why I hate going to the library for books. They always have like the first 2 but not the 3rd. Or Books 1 and 3.
I really can't think of any other vampire novels but those 2. At least if you don't want to stray into romance books. Those quasi-fantasy horror novels are usually full of vampires, ghosts and whatnot.

Well, this is unusual to admit, but I never finished "New Moon"...which is because I hardly have time to read. :(
But, there was one that had the whole mortal girl/vamp boy thing way before, which was the "Vampire Kisses" series. Only this series is completely different. I HAVE read "Dead Before Dark", which is the first season of "True Blood". Although I was definitely picturing it differently.

My wife really enjoys the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. I think each one focuses on a different character but they are all entwined.
Black Dagger Brotherhood - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia And Sookie Stackhouse, but I am sure most of you consider that bubble-gum vampireness.
