Have you noticed lately everything on ebay is Buy It Now? And the prices are always double or triple of what they normally go for. It's almost impossible to find bidding auctions anymore. I've been searching between GI Joe, Star Wars & Transformers & all I see now are tons of Buy It Now's for stupid high prices. If I wanted that I could just go to Brianstoys or BBTS or any of the other online scalper sites.
And then when you look at the completed listing there's tons of Buy It Now's in the red that didn't sell. Such a waste of time! Buy It Now was the dumbest thing ebay ever did, even dumber than not letting sellers leave negative feedback. NO! I'm not paying over $100 for a loose fucking Condor! So STOP listing them BUY IT NOW $110 +$30.00 for shipping. One that comes with the original box doesn't even go that high. Stupid greedy bastards!!! Just needed to get that off my chest. I really hate everything about this world I'm unfortunately trapped in. Next up, avoiding skanks & whores & how to meet a nice decent girl! Film at 11! Amen to that. I will very rarely buy something off ebay with Buy it Now. I try to avoid it all together unless its something I just really have to have.

I see where you're coming from, but it can occasionally work both ways and I've had some real bargains from BINs. But yeah, usually it is just the same stuff you see week after week with insane prices just not selling, and unfortunately it isn't going to stop any time soon as ebay is moving out the small private seller in favour of the dealers and bulk sellers (most of whom use BIN) as that is where the real cash is. Allegedly.

some collectors list their personal collections in their ebay stores with outrageous BIN prices knowing that they will never sell then it is considered merchandise and can be used as a tax deduction.I like BIN it is how I prefer to purchase from ebay.I just wont buy it if it costs more than I am willing to pay.

i love buy it now.
sure some people jack the price way up, but a lot of times, people have things priced reasonable/to move. that's for me. |

As an international tanker who HAS to use ebay to get Joes, the buy it now feature is often a god send. Means I don't have to get up at 4am to protect bids. I understand where you're coming from, but from my perspective it's oftentimes the difference between having something and not.
I also understand the whole shipping thing. I know alot of it is calculated on the size of the product and the prospective size / weight / dimension ratio of how much room it takes up in a van / truck / plane but jeez. Shipping just seems to jump around so much. |

Sellers charge high shipping fees to try and get around ebays seller fees. The higher price an item sells for the higher fee a seller has to pay so they try to charge less for the item but the gouge on the shipping.I avoid those sellers who do this because this is a dishonest practice and should not be allowed.

I like BIN better than the auction (b/c almost everytime I get sniped). What eBay has to do is make sure current items are more in line with the retail price. Items that can be found in stores shouldn't be more than double it's retail price. Also, they should revise the shipping so prices are more in line with actual costs. Sellers like to use the shipping price to cover the ever rising fees. It's insane that I can get figures shipped cheaper from china than from inside the US.

You have to consider sellers in China probably are not paying anything for the figures they are selling. Most of the figures are going out the back door of the factory where they are made and straight to ebay.
