Honestly,
I LOVE buy it now. Because i rarely shop on Ebay anymore... I only go there when i really want something, and to lose the auction from a bid 2 seconds before the auction closes pisses me off to no end. And i have seen enough shill bidding on there to sour me on placing the most i would pay for an item as a maximum bid... Because let's face it... If i have resorted to using Ebay, i am desperate enough to pay a lot for something... So i like the buy it now option. I can decide then and there, do i really want to pay that amount to own that item? Then it's play or pass... |

I like the Amazon Marketplace model when it comes to shipping - THEY say how much shipping should be for each category, then they take the money from the buyer and pass it on to you. That way no gouging on shipping.

If I know what I want for something I list it as BIN. If It's something that has a good price fluctuation I will list it as BIN and auction, usually with a starting price as low as I want to go.
Most people look at Ebay, look at what the last "insert what I'm selling here" went for the most and then list theirs at that price for a BIN. Stupid. BUT some people who aren't collectors or savvy will pay it just to get an item. I use BIN a lot, specifically if there's something I want and the price is right. Takes the hassle out of placing a bid, waiting, shill bidders, snipers etc.... Shipping charges? That's a whole other story.

It is like paying for high gas prices. It sucks, but everyone is paying it. Ebay does not see any problems and they will not change unless something changes.
I do like "BUY IT NOW"

Buy It Now is it and miss for me, sometimes I find a good deal most of the time I don't. But getting rid of it isnt going to solve everything, all the greedy ones will just set a reserve close to "what they think they should get for it", and in fact it will take longer to find out the seller wants an impossible amount for the product as the auction will have to end before finding out.

I don't use ebay that often, but I like buy it now when the price is in my range. I recently bought the entire McFarlane collection of Metal Gear Solid Toys both MGS1 & 2SOL w/ the Snake/Meryl 2 pack buy it now for 50$, 12$ shipping, awsome deal. The same Collection 1 set went for 70ish dollars without the 2 pack and with out SOL figures all the same day. I do recognize that some sellers jack the hell out of the BIN price which sucks, but Ive always been able to find a better deal elsewhere.

Someone fell asleep yesterday because I scored a 1983 Major Bludd with all weapons and file card shipped for 8.00!!! And it wasn't a BIN.
I can agree with Steelgrave but then again.. I AM TIRED OF GETTING BEAT OUT OF A DAMN AUCTION IN THE LAST 0.0000034 SECONDS!!! Usually if I see an auction that I want and I know someone else is definately gonna out bid me... I WILL JACK THE PRICE UP WHERE I DON'T WIN IT... but someone else is gonna pay!!! I know it's evil and stupid... but if they are willing to pay high dollars for some cheap piece of plastic, then let's make sure they PAY for it. |

I mostly dislike BIN when its a common item, like MOTUC figures that had page after page of nearly identical listings.
For the Condor, couldn't you send a message with a lower offer once the thing doesn't sell for a while? |
