Hogan just for the mere amount of years he's been in the spotlight.Austin was great but he would have never been created if it wasn't for Hogan when he turned heel and forming the NWO and thus creating the Monday Night Wars. That era was the first time I have seen wrestling t-shirts go mainstream and alot of people were wearing NWO shirts more that Austin 3:16 shirts

BTW, if you don't know who this guy is, you don't need to be posting in a wrestling thread. He was known (and still is) by more people than even Hogan, Flair, The Rock, or Steve Austin, and had a career spanning almost 50(!) years. He starred as himself in almost 40 movies, and to this day is the feature of cartoons and comic books as a superhero. He was the originator, the founder of Lucha Libre, and half of Mexico was there for his funeral. Along with Rikkidozan and Carl Gotch, he might be one of the Supreme Gods of Professional Wrestling.
El Santo - Television Tropes & Idioms Try and talk shit about this man, and Eddie Guerrero might just come back from the dead to kick your ass. |

cena should definitely not be in the conversation. popular or not, he's got no depth at all. flair truly is the man, but i gotta go with stone cold if forced to choose. when he turned heel, man, it was just perfect.

From what TV Tropes has to say, even in real life he's awesome beyond words... Quote:
Crazy Awesome: One of the reasons Flair is still a great asset in his sixties is his willingness to do pretty much anything to sell an angle, including blading himself like crazy to get over his opponent's supposed toughness. Recently. Flair did a promo in TNA where he was talking about a recent cut he was given by Hulk Hogan. Flair then proceeded to punch at the wound until it reopened and blood came down his face while he talked. Seriously, the man is insane.
Crowning Moment Of Awesome: Among many, many others... * Flair survived a plane crash in 1975 that killed the pilot, paralyzed Johnny Valentine, shortened the career of "Mr. Wrestling" Tim Woods, and injured Bob Bruggers and promoter David Crockett; Flair, who broke his back in three places and was told by doctors that he would never wrestle again, returned to the ring six months later. A side effect of this was a change in Flair's in-ring style in order to accommodate his injuries, which he adapted to quickly and used to great effect. The most visible of these is his absolute refusal to take a flat back body drop; he always lands on one side (usually his right) and takes most of the impact on his shoulder and hip. |
