I need some help.. my windshield wipers decided to have a mind of their own today.. the left one flies off the windshield, and when i turn them off they get stuck in the middle. not only that but while on they are making a huge clunking sound and i can see the edge of my hood near the windshield bumping up and down

check themounts of the windshield wiper motor. also, look down inside by the wiper motor (just follow the arm down into the hood area), make sure both arms are securely attached to the shafts. Not familiar with the escape, but it sounds like a security issue.
I just realized how funny that sounds. Last edited by WildWeaselZ06; 06-20-2010 at 07:49 PM.. |

probably, just try to wiggle the motor itself. If it moves around alot, something isn't secured.

pull the cover and see if it mounts to rubber isolators. if it does, one or more of the isolators may have dry-rotted and broke.
