Copperheads will chase you. I worked in the gardening department at Home Depot for awhile, and you had to be really careful moving plants around. I'm not usually scared of snakes, but copperheads scare the crap out of me.

I hate snakes. Hate 'em completely. If you live in area that has poisonous snakes, call Animal control or an exterminator. If not, get down there with a shovel and get 'er done. We're at war with vermin here gentlemen--do your part. All you serpent sympathizers can dangle. |

Roshan, I'm surprised you don't have a cat(s) since you live in a rural community. My grandfather has a lot of chickens, and he has tons of farm cats (not pets). If you can't find the snake he may have already gone back outside. Are there a lot of hiding places in your house? Got 6 farm cats. They leave their kills on our doorstep and although nice that they're that good of mousers, having 2 to 3 dead, uneaten shrews and mice piled up on your doorstep every day gets a bit annoying when I gotta throw them out in the field every day (if we don't it attracts other scavengers you don't want on your doorstep) The snake has free run of the basement and there's so much space for it to hide behind all the toys shelves it'll never be found if it doesn't want to. |

It supposedly has a mouse scent to it, but I just know from what customers at Lowes/Home Depot told me. Half said it worked, but the other half said it didn't. *shrugs* |

For whatever reason, I thought this tread was going to be about catching snake venom...i guess I misread the title.
