Slavery is abolished correct?
Instead people wake up, go to a job, get paid, spend it to live and repeat the process until they are too old to work. If they do not go to there job they have no home and no food and will die. Man is not free from slavery, the definition has instead been rewritten. I am paraphrasing this. I heard it somewere but i cant figure where. Does something like this sound familier to anyone? If so who said it and exactly what was said?

Hmmm...
I am guessing that whomever wrote this... Probably never experienced slavery first hand... But it sounds very Dennis Miller-y |

why does the country need slaves?
Instead have the people work for a wage. They need this wage to live. The government controls the wage thus controlling the people. The people must do what the government says or they will perish. this is another rewording of it. I cant remember for the life of me who said this. its not word for word and its a diffrent paraphrase of the first post but its the same basic concept. It was someone old. Not a comedian. And its driving me nuts lol.

Yes, it's wikipedia, but it looks like the answers to your questions are here:

economist Paul Samuelson described this discrepancy.
"Since slavery was abolished, human earning power is forbidden by law to be capitalized. A man is not even free to sell himself; he must rent himself at a wage." close but still not completely right. at least the link gives me somewere to start. thanks

Some would argue that Dennis Miller isn't really a comedian anyways. It sounds more like Bill Maher, who isn't much of a comic either.

I hate bill maher... if he could go two sentences without bringing up how much he hates God, I'd watch for longer than four sentences. His show was great when he started... now he doesn't know how to shut the f' up!
