I think that's what it's all about. Well, the football that is I hate watching early season Big 10. It's always Pen State 63 - Upper Northwestern Penn Tech U 7. Ohio State always has that one BIG game early in the season (Texas, USC) and then it's 4 weeks of crap. Also is the same at the end. Big 10 ends like 3 weeks before everyone else. Mind you OSU/MI is always a great game, no matter what the records are, but it's too damn early.

I love the first Penn State scrimmage of the season....I think it was the Central Carolina Fishermen Junior College All-Stars in 2009.
Bringing in some serious competittion is going to change the way schools like PSU and OSU recruit and retain players. It's going to be interesting to see the effects on staying competitive and "integrity". |

Doesn't Notre Dame have standing rivalries with Purdue, Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan State and Michigan? The fact that the record is close is what makes winning rivalry games great. If you take your rival to the woodshed every game, your fans will only care when you lose.
This is a really cool PDF of all of ND's schedules since 1887: http://www.maplenet.net/~trowbridge/NDAllTimeScores.pdf

So the Pac 10 wants to get to 16 and have 2 automatic BCS bids. That's such shit. How about don't fucking expand that large or deal with it. You're likely going to have 2 BCS bids every year anyways, bust mandating it pisses me off. Likely won't have to worry about the Pac getting 2 in for 2 years anyways with USC getting the ban.
The Big Ten only wants to expand for revenue purposes, which makes sense for the longterm viability of the conference. Adding Cornhusker Nation to the BTN viewership is HUGE. They need to get one or two more teams, but apparently Missouri is NOT on the list any longer. I bet they still make a case for Texas, but will end up going after either Syracuse or Rutgers for the NYC viewers if they can't get ND. I think its a disappointment if its anyone other than UT or ND. |

I was hoping the Big Ten would add Uconn for 100% purely selfish reasons.
1. I live about 10 minutes from Uconns home stadium. 2. Chances of seeing Ohio State, Penn State and MI play AT Uconns home stadium 3. Big Ten network on my cable system. That is all

Looks like the Big 12 is going to go on as a ten team conference. Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, and Texas A & M are staying. The Longhorns will also be starting their own network.
