We're all forgetting the biggest football story of this week. And that is West Ham defeating Man U in Carling Cup play FOUR. NIL.
And before any Red Devil Apologists start claiming it was Man U's b squad, it was ALSO West Ham's b squad. Even sweeter it was former Man U and current Team USA player Jonathan Spector (playing out of position, no less) who scored a pair in the first half. Maybe the season is going to start to run around here. It's sure been a good week for my beloved Hammers.

I understand he had confidence in the young lads, but they're clearly not up to par - at least not yet. looking at the bigger picture, it is the "Carling Cup." whoop-de-doo. deep down inside you know the squad is glad to be over with the tourney - one less to worry about. now they can focus on winning the EPL and trying to get as far as they can in the Champions before they get their ass kicked by my BARCA!!! *oh, and btw... there is no way in hell the Man U defeat is the biggest storyline in football. not many people outside of Hammerville really care about all that. there's no question that Barca pounding Madrid is the hottest topic. every football fan i know can not stop talking about the game. it was probably the greatest demonstration of football i have ever seen in my entire life. absolutely gorgeous to watch. IMHO. |

Eh it doesnt bother me anyway, never took on the Carling Cup except last season when we faced Manchester City in the Semis an those were 2 great matches.
I didnt see the match but if you lose 4-0 you only have yourself to blame for letting that happen defensively and maybe they were still getting over that hang over of goin top of the table after Chelsea an Arsenal's defeats. I mean one day you play the most fantastic display of football then the next its a complete disaster but hey thats football you have good days an bad days an that day was just bad. But as Shockwave said that demolition of Real Madrid by Barcelona is mostly the talk of the town an it has a damn right to be, this is the first time the Special One has ever been embarrassed by that scoreline. |
