Relaxation, confidence and a nice button down shirt. . That's all you need.
Good luck man.

My only advice is just have fun with it, and don't try too hard.

Good luck, relax, and have a good time. Don't put too much pressure on yourself.

I went to this man retreat one time about ten years ago where you all sit around and validate each other's feelings. The woman I was seeing at the time pretty much punched me in the groin for going to it and moved out the following month.
I sometimes think that these threads about Tankers getting up the nerve to talk to women at professional offices and convenience stores go along those lines. Especially when we all pile on, for better or - as I have been bashed before by some of us when I'm just making an observation - for worse. |

Well, the first one is in the books, I can pretty much label it a success!
We ended up just sticking to this one place for the evening and just talking and getting to know each other. I really do like her and we do share a lot of similar ideas when it comes to relationships, goals, all that kind of stuff. And most importantly, when I accidentally poured Stella Artois on myself, she didn't think I was a total loser. I didn't know if I was nervous or it was because I didn't notice how full the glass was, but whatever. Basically, I want to take things slow, because I like her, and I want to do things right. So it's kind of casual right now, but I do have hope.

Hi all,
Not sure if there's a way to update the title of this thread, but anyway, as I mentioned, the first outing was successful, but now I have a question for those that are "romantically inclined." So I feel like randomly texting her and asking how her day is. With only one date down, will that seem pushy or sweet or what?

snap I posted with out reading the last post again. I do that sometimes.
Don't over do it. If a girl likes you then she's going to like hearing from you. the whole wait a couple days is kinda dumb (but also sometimes necessary). Trust me. If a girl likes you she'll like hearing from you.

I'd say that one text, asking how her day was would probably seem thoughtful and it would convey the message that you're thinking about her. Wait fior the response before texting again. Pushy (not to mention annoying) would be numerous follow-up text messages if she doesn't reply right away.
Of course, this is advice from a guy that's been married for 11 years and has no idea what dating is like these days... But it seems logical to me! Good luck, brother! |
