I just bought an Ibanez RG350EX with the Edge III tremelo. I have never seen a tremelo like this (I've been out of it for a very long time). Having to cut the ball off the string to change it is a pain in the butt. Also, do I have to take it to a Luthier every time I want to change the strings? I can't afford a $70 setup every other week! Is it really this difficult, or is there somehow I can learn to do it myself without destroying my instrument?

Man, my whole band plays Ibanez..but I'm just the vocalist. My guitar is an old Jackson.
I never heard of having a set up like that. I see the guys this Sunday and will ask...did you try to contact Ibanez? They may have a live customer service rep or something on their website. |

no you do not if you take the string out of the tuning key you should be able to pull it out of the tremolo from the ball on the string if I remember correctly or just google it

Do what I used to do with my floating trem, sting it backwards. Put the balls in the nut up on the stock (wow that sounds dirty )
I find it stays in tune better that way. Of course, I'm still using my original Floyd Tremelo that I Hi-jacked from a kid I knew in middleschool. That bridge ever breaks I'm going to be painfully sad.
