Never used Facebook myself (I know, I know, I'm a social networking Luddite), but I find it interesting that the growing concerns about Facebook's access to people's private information has led to a bit of a backlash:
QuitFacebookDay.com Some Facebook users quit over privacy concerns - CTV News A lot of the negative pub is apparently due to the Open Graph API Facebook recently debuted: Facebook's Open Graph Personalizes the Web What Open Graph does, in a nutshell, is it "allows sites and apps to share information about users in order to tailor offers, features and services to each one’s interests and tastes — even if that individual has never visited the site before. When you’re signed on to Facebook, participating websites like CNN.com will display information, goods and services tailored specifically to your interests — without requiring you to sign in at that website or provide it with any information. Btw, those of you that decide to delete need to be aware that there are two options: Deactivate Delete When I deleted mine I had to dig pretty deep to find the actual delete option. Here is a pretty good article that summaries the deletion process: How-To Permanently Delete Your Facebook Account |

I rarely used it, and I guess that's why it was so easy for me to decide to delete it. They're pretty sneaky with deletions though, because if you attempt to log in up to 14 days after requesting deletion it will cancel the request.

This wins the "Everyone Should Have Seen This Coming a Mile Away" Award for 2010.
Social networking is bullshit. Never used it. Never plan to. I don't care if that makes me sound like an old fart. I'll be an old fart with a lot more privacy. |

I'm not to worried. I go on and send messages to friends that are in other states and see pictures. Thats about all I use it for. I don't even play games.
