so, i bought some back issue of gi joe idw (like 6 issues) from ebay and the seller shipped me different covers from the ones that were in the pictures (for 2 of them). there was no warning that the covers might be different.
what can i do? i already messaged them and told them the problem. the issues were cobra #2 and GI JOE origins #4 if youre curious. am i screwed? i dont want to pay shipping back to them. i dont want these comics though. i really wanted the other covers. what can i do?

You can file a dispute. But you will likely have to pay for return shipping. That's the risk you take with eBay.

hmm, return shipping vs the cost of just buying the comics again...
isnt that not cool that the pics dont match what they are selling? what if i just bite the bullet and leave them bad feedback then? maybe they will stop doing that in the future? or it will warn others. f***ers...

I would go the bad feedback route. send them a message and let them know you have no choice but to leave negative feedback unless they can supply the covers that were pictured... if they have a high score or care about that then they may fix it for you. if not, you did your part trying to resolve the issue

Depends on how they were listed. If they were listed under the book section, ebay asks for a UPC#. Ebay then gives the seller the option of using ebay's pics and data or inputting their own. There's only one cover pic in the system. Did it look like they took their own pictures?

But that is still an area where the isdn number is used for auto listing. This could be an area where it's not really the seller's fault but ebay's automated system not taking into account that there are variant covers.
