Most guys have a story about a girl that just flat out said no.
Now I'm going back, middle school, high school etc--to a girl you passed in the hallway and wanted to "know" but she was having none of it and it CRUSHED you--even if it only bothered you for a little while, share your story--and don't be gay like "I always scored" shut up, no you didnt. Here's mine. I had a REALLY small study hall class in the 10th grade. At the time I saw what I thought was the most beautiful girl in the world--she was in there because she couldn't play gym due to a broken arm. I did every single thing I could to make her laugh, get her attention--even if it meant getting sent to the office for harrasing a substitute....and it worked. She laughed her ass off. With that, I started asking her if I could carry her books because of her arm--she let me. I was on cloud 9. I finally asked for her number and she playfully said "ohhhh--you gotta find out". So in what, by today's standards could probably get you locked up--I did. I had "office duty" in place of a class--and I basically looked up her name where the file cards of each student was and took down her number. I called her house that weekend and left a message, with I guess her mom...and bam, before the weekend was up she called back and was really cool. I mean lets face it--that's stalker shit. So we had our conversation and for about an hour we talked and laughed and it was great!! Monday came and I went to school and walked up to her and was just like "hey!" She said hi back and out of NOWHERE was just like "hey you are really funny--but I just want you to know, I don't like you like that. Is that cool?" "Oh yeah..it's totally cool" be right back while I drink some battery acid and take a spear gun to my throat. Is that cool? WTF are you kidding me?!!?---Anyway, I can just shake my head now--but good lord did it feel like my chest caved in at the time. Your turn. |

Not to be gay, but yes I always scored. Three girlfriends before my wife (who all dumped me, but they said yes to start) and I met my wife when we were in high school at 16 so, I really didn't have much time to rack up the rejections. |

Here's one. A girl I met in my first year of community college acting class. We were the only two who took the class seriously. Were paired together all the time and rehearsed constantly together in and out of class. Obviously, as a youngling I was easily influenced and fell for her thinking that even though she was older, she must like me or she wouldn't be spending all this time with me.
When the class was over and we were still spending time together, I told her how I felt. After the kindly laughing ended she told me I was too young to know what I was doing, and that she couldn't date anyone who wasn't of her faith and heritage. That even though I was a great guy she'd be betraying her heritage. That was a first. I made the mistake of trying to maintain the friendship after that but it didn't last long. I'd come over and she'd make comments about my feelings being "cute" or her sister would give me a knowing look and that was it. I wouldn't stand around being humiliated (at least not this time) no matter how well meaning she was. Broke my heart, but it lead me to find my beautiful wife. Now, fourteen years and three kids later I couldn't be happier about how things turned out.

Oh man, I got like five similar stories, that I thought at the time were big deals, but looking back are basically your average middle school guy-likes-girl stories.
Hah, haven't thought about those in a long time! Some pretty funny memories, in retrospect.

I rarely had the gumption to ask chicks out unless I was pretty sure they'd say yes. There was one chick who's number I looked up in the phone book (this woulda been 86-87) and I called her and she said no. The chick I lost my virginity too had a boyfriend away in the army so she wouldn't be my girlfriend, just a fwb, before there were such things...

My senior year of high school I went out on a couple of dates with a girl who was a junior. I knew she had a boyfriend who lived "away," but it wasn't until the second date I learned she was dating a Marine. Like, she was dating A MEMBER OF THE US MARINE CORPS, and HE WAS DEPLOYED OVERSEAS.
Oddly, I wasn't bothered by the fact that he could (and might've) killed me if he found out. I also wasn't bothered by the fact that she was cheating on him with me (although it never went beyond a couple of awkward good night kisses). No, what bothered me was she dumped me before prom, but still wanted to go with me "as friends." Because I'm lame, we did. What's really sad was there was another girl, super good looking, who wanted to go with me for prom. I turned her down to go with the Marine's girlfriend. High school sucked. |

Now that I really take time to think about it. Once. It happened once. That is all.

Speaking of girls cheating on marines. My ex-girlfriend from ways back right after high school, started dating one. She kept calling me up for random hook ups and one time he texted her right after we... you know ;)... in my bed. "Thinking of you... naked." Funny cause she was pretty naked. Sucks for that guy. I think she ended up marrying the guy.
