Bah.
It's not that somebody is going to put your balls on a table and chop them off man. It's a safe, painless procedure. It will make your life easier and your family too. You already have two kids. Basically: you'll be enjoying the best part of the business, without having to worry anymore! ;) (btw, women can do a similar operation, but don't be a chicken.)

Yeah do some research on it dude. Its not a big deal really (compared to a tubal ligation). You are still whole and still can finish properly, you just don't stand a chance of having a child.
Vasectomy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia If you don't want anymore kids, its the safest bet. What women have to go through is much more dangerous. Tubal ligation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't get why the burden is on you? A vasectomy is permanent on your part, but there's no need for permanent when she is not always going to be able to have children. There are alot of birth control devices that she can make use of in the mean time - from the pill, to o-rings, to intra-uterine devices. There's no point for you going through the point of no return.

If you get it done, make sure and keep plenty of bags of frozen peas.

Personally, I'm all for it, but my wife is the one that is apprehensive about it. Hell of a lot more through than an IUD, patch, shot or pill. Btw, my wife had the hormone shot once, and it made her freakin' insane, literally... |

Let me stab at this at a different angle. My wife got her tubes tied long before we met. Essentally now I want kids of my own but she cannot get a reversal (long story but trust me on this).
Anyway this put a HUGE strain on our relationship and she regrets ever having it done. She has three wonderfull girls from a preveious marrage (long story short the dad is a deadbeat). Pretty much they are my children in everything but name only, but still that one minor fact has been the toughest single thing we have faced together. Not to say our marrage is bad or going down the tubes but really I would spare anyone the problems we have faced. I have no children of my own (biologically) cause I was carefull not to get any women pregnant before I met my wife, now sometimes I feel like I am being punished for it and being deprived a joy that I know how it feels (from my stepdaughters) but can never truely have due to "biology" Tons of pain I wouldn't wish on another soul. So my point being, you never know what is going to happen. You and your wife might be happy now but later, who knows, and then maybe you meet someone else who never had kids of her own and, opps you got snipped. Imagine what that would put her through, trust me its horrible. Just on the 1% chance that would happen I would advise you NOT to get it. Just my POV |
