When I'm walking down the street and I walk past a guy and give him a nasty look and he doesn't check me out. Apparently he doesn't know that I'm hotter than any girlfriend he'll ever have.
There's something wrong with guys like that. They make me cringe. Last edited by Zoltron; 05-05-2010 at 03:44 PM.. |

Oh, here we go.
I live in the rural Midwest and never actually saw a black person until I flew to Europe in high school 22 years ago - and that was at the airport. In Boston. I now live in a somewhat bigger town of about 10,000 and I couldn't tell you if I've ever seen a black person since I moved here 10 years ago. Certainly don't consider myself devoid of intelligence, and if someone asked me if my sons have ever seen a black person, I'd have to say probably not. There's nothing devoid of tact in speaking the truth in that context. Not seeing black people frequently sure doesn't stop me from being a volunteer fireman, participating in Big Brothers, and starting a sports equipment drive at work so all the local kids can play soccer and baseball. Some asshole shot and killed a cop in the big city near my home over the weekend - in a park where people like to run and bike and do all kinds of stuff that people like me enjoy. I was cringed up like Hell when I read that in the paper. That prick was black. The other buttpoke charged was white as a daisy, though. Hmm. Wonder why I don't see more black people around home? |

I was at a school function for my youngest daughter and heard one of the other parents say, and I quote "My boys never even SEEN a black person before...".
Mind you, I live in a rural part of NJ and yes, the area is considered to be "the country" but still, to raise your child in a world oblivious to people of other ethnic heritage, race, creed or color is just ignorant. I didn't hear the first part of the conversation, and frankly didn't need to hear the rest. That alone was enough to make me embarrassed of being in the same room. I truly wonder how some people make it through the day being so devoid of intelligence, tact and heart. It's hard for a lot of us to believe, but there are almost entire states in the US out there with no ethnic diversity at all. Maybe some in the major cities, but get out into the sticks and it's all vanilla, no chocolate. I know when my mom first came to this country (before I was born) she'd never seen a black person with her own eyes before, and was a little freaked out not by the color, but how freakin' tall the first ones she did meet were, but that's about it. I imagine the first white Europeans to land in Africa or America must have looked pretty freaky to the native peoples too. |
