Today I had my wife's car serviced and I had my 4 year old son with me. So while the car was being serviced, we waited in the "family" waiting area. My son started digging through the toy bin and then he yelled out, "look Daddy a GI Joe". I looked and it was an ME Tiger Force Duke, no accessories, just a figure. Just out curiosity I looked in the toy bin and they had 4 or 5 joes, some Transformers and some Hot Wheels.
I saw they had a Transformers Ravage and I always wanted one and thought about taking it. But I thought about the example I would be setting for my son. About two weeks ago, a parent donated toys to my son's daycare and it had a Transformers Unicron and Primus in the bunch. From what I saw they were both complete. Last Monday, when I picked up my son from school both Unicron and Primus were in pieces. I would have loved to have either one or even both and. I just felt bad that they were basically getting destroyed. If you were in my position in both situations what would you have done?

Stealing is stealing, no matter what it is. No toy is worth my integrity. I suppose if you wanted it bad enough you could ask the service company if you could have it and replace it with something else that kids would enjoy, but just "taking" it is not an option in my book.

If you really wanted them, offer to buy them or trade them for something they felt was equal.

If you really wanted them you should have asked if it was ok to take one. Honestly though, leaving them for others to play with was the best choice. They are meant to be played with. The kids might as well have enjoyed them. You set the right example.

[QUOTE=Ixz72;1609541] Last Monday, when I picked up my son from school both Unicron and Primus were in pieces.
I would have loved to have either one or even both and. I just felt bad that they were basically getting destroyed. QUOTE] all I can picture is Sid from Toy Story tourturing Unicron as Primus cries, knowing hes next....tough question...I know Ive taken an Entertainment Weekly from my kids Drs office so I could read the article later, seeing that it was just a mag used to entertain adults while they wait, it didnt faze me...Dont know if toys would be different..

For the Unicorn and Primus, I would have gotten 2 huge stuff animals and "exchanged" for the transformers. I would say that I did bot think that violent toys were appropriate for a day care and that, in any event, they have too many little parts that could be swallowed.

I would've left them for the kids....that's who they'd made for, really. Plus they probably had nasty kid-germs on them.....most kids are filthy.

I agree you did the right thing to leave them. the fact that a service station even had toys for kids to play with I think is cool. Being that they had something you might have wanted you could have said
My kid really enjoys this toy can i replace it. |
