As far as the covers and interior pages are concerned, if the publisher wanted them taken down, they could make it happen. And actually, if the publishers wanted to have paid commissions stopped altogether, they could do so. Luckily, they haven't. |

I just see a fine line between allowing the art site and allowing HTML.
But like we've said, with anything concerning the internet and digital delivery, no one in the publishing world has really thought it all through and just reacts.

I know how I'm going to react; by not buying their stuff anymore.

Just saw this. Jimmy Palmiotti's comments pretty much put the whole issue in perspective, I think.

For someone like me (I live in Spain) who's been disconnected from GIJoe universe since childhood, and can't purchase comics here as GIJoe ones are not available, it's a REAL PITY.
I don't know how to recover so much lost stories... :( |

I think a main element of the issue is volume. I can buy a book or CD and then give it to a friend to read and then he can give it to someone, etc, and many people could enjoy it w/out purchase, but this has such a small impact because not that many people are involved, but downloading films and music and comics on the internet can happen on such a massive scale that sales can really feel an impact. Hey, I like free shit just like the next guy, but I also believe in supporting artists that I like, so I usually buy stuff I really want. But if someone rips me a free CD I'm not gonna throw it away. I'll miss this site though.
