can someone please help me with a checklist and order for which to begin
reading these books?? there seems to be lots of variants and an 'Absolute' collection or whatever... and Black Dossier etc... I just want the the basic stuff. like the basic order and which books... like obviously I want ALL the books... Black Dossier etc but where does it fall etc within the core volumes. i tried researching it and I found it in between vol2 and vol3 but isn't it like a prequel or something so would it behoove me to read it after I read the core volumes? any insight would be much appreciated. i mean I assume starting with Vol1 and then Vol2 etc... what else is there... that I should snag? like what's the definitive 'collection' if you will. thank you.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Vol. 1 Vol. 2 Black Dossier Vol. 3: Century That's it. REALLY?? wow for some reason I thought there were like 2 other spin offs. maybe they were just variant things I saw etc. i was on amazon.com and couldn't figure out what the hell I was looking at. thanks for clearing it up. never occurred to me to go to wikipedia since last time I did that for something and tried to submit a change... i was told I was wrong... even though it's literally impossible that I was wrong since I was talking to the source material himself while trying to correct wikipedia. a day later my info was deemed incorrect. f&***&^^&*ing experts are rarely ever that. hehehehehe.

I FINALLY after years of putting it off (cuz I'm lazy) finished the last Promethea book and then finished Top Ten. (I gotta read the Smax single still and refuse to read any Top Ten not written by Moore. I don't like when new writers take over creator work like that). So my next thing is League and then maybe Tom Strong. dunno.

Tom Strong was great. I loved it.
I agree with not reading it if Moore isn't doing it. Top Ten was a great book. All of the ABC stuff was good actually.

I only have 1 and 2, but they're great reading. They seem right up your alley, Gyre.

If you're into Doc Savage then you'll love Tom Strong. Very pulpy.
Edit: You might also like The Invisibles by Grant Morrison. Last edited by green_shirt; 04-24-2010 at 11:41 PM.. |
