Anybody here ever gotten Lasik done? I really want to. I'm soo tired of dealing with Glasses and Contacts. I obviously know the risks and rewards. Just want to hear from somebody who has had it done and how much did it cost?

Did it almost three years ago. One of the best decisions i've ever made. I'm still amazed that after wearing glasses and contacts most of my life, I wake up in the morning and open my eyes andbi can see 20/20.

Oh, and my insurance paid all but a Ben, otherwise it would have been 1500 an eye.

awesome man. I'm jealous. If you don't mind, how much did it cost? How was the procedure? Did it take awhile before you re-adjusted?

I work in the optical biz and I deal with a lot of people who've had it. In the future you'll need multifocals anyways. It can make night driving difficult due to the increased glare. It doesn't last forever. An industry investigation was ongoing due to the irregularly high percent of people who weren't satisfied with the procedure. This could be due to any of the reasons stated before, unreal expectations, or manual error. You're better off paying more and getting an IOL, in my opinion. Also, depending on how bad your eyes are, they can't always correct you back to 20/20. Don't pay more than $2000, and likely don't pay more than $1200, depending on where you live.
