My family/friends think I'm joking when I tell them how paranoid I am, especially with the internet. My Paypal account is attached to a designated banking account, and I never type passwords. If someone did get my account information they wouldn't get much. I also never do online banking/bill pay.
I know nothing is 100% secure, but I do my best to mitigate the damages. Imagine using your Credit Card at a Footlocker and having your information stolen via WI Fi from accross the parking lot, later to have found mad charges on your card. Read about it but stills sucks.

You know what would make for a good thread? A poll about how many of us are living paycheck-to-paycheck.
What's the definition of that concept, anyway? I mean, if I get salary, pay all my bills and living expenses, and put the rest in savings and/or investments, I essentially have $0 readily available at the end of the month...so am I living paycheck-to-paycheck? Which is generally speaking my whole life. The most I've ever had on hand for back up is $500 and that is rare these days.

I thank god that me and my wife have several bank accounts and my paypal account is attached to one of our old accounts that we never keep more than 50 or 60 bucks in. My wife keeps a close eye on every transaction made on every account. I could buy a pack of cigs or a soda from mcdonalds, she wants the reciept.
I guess shes so cautious because back in Dec just before christmas my wife was robbed at gunpoint and her purse was taken.(i ALWAYS WARN HER NOT TO BE SO FLASHY BUT THATS A DIFFERENT STORY)in her purse(WHICH WAS A $300 COACH BAG) was $300 in cash,a $400 cell phone and several credit and debit cards. The crooks we're some how able to use one of the debit cards to get gas. Which I didnt understand, whenever I get gas with a debit card,I must enter a pin,how we're they able to get gas without entering the pin... |

You know how they say its best to find humor in a bad situation? She said one of the dumb asses said "this is a murder dont make it a robbery" and he tried to correct himself and the other guy cut him off and told him to shut up,lol. |

Yes it is,I use to walk around with 2 or 3 thousand in my pocket(mainly to show off when I was shopping). My wife put a stop to that. Ive matured alot since getting married.

My bank account was just locked this weekend. I was buying something at shoppers drug mart trying to use my debit and I kept getting denied. I went directly to the bank machine and it said my Bank Account might be compromised and I have to change my pin. At first glance at my account it doesn't appear they actually got in to do any damage thank God, also got 2 automated bank calls which I missed stating that my PIN was at risk. I think I know how these crooks got mine, b/c 2 weeks ago I really needed cash for dinner and the place didnt take debit or credit card and no bank was close by, so I had to resort to something I never do, and that was use an ATM at a convience store. Im almost positive that place either had a camera or a fake ATM machine. This is scary stuff, I have to find time to talk to my bank (I HATE bank hours, I have no time during work to go), and make sure everythings ok.
