Hair metal is glam metal. The term 'hair metal' was some derogatory garbage MTV thought of. Glam metal is heavy metal with a pop influence. It's still a form of METAL which is why it's called GLAM METAL. You don't have to be straight metal to be metal. A number of metal bands have influences from other genres. Yes it is, go to Europe. I'm not trying to pick on this generation but younger people (most, not all, and I am 26 so it's not like I am too far from the youngins) have no idea what REAL metal is. I just got into a discussion with a Slipknot loving douchebag who claims that Judas Priest was never metal, especially by today's standards. Um, todays standards? If anything, TODAY'S bands are further from what REAL metal is. You can't say a band that helped invent the friggin genre isn't metal. Honestly, some of these people need to learn their metal history or stfu.
