Was wondering who your favorite authors and books to read are.
My favorite authors are John Grisham and Stephen King. I've read almost all Grisham's legal thrillers. I'm now reading Pet Sematary by Stephen King. My favorite book that I can read over and over is Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shun Ryu Suzuki. |

Michael Crichton is my favorite author, and many of his books are among my favorites of all time. Jurassic Park is my personal favorite book, regardless of author, and I've read it several times over the years.
Lately I've been reading the original James Bond novels and I really like Ian Fleming's style. I also enjoy the original Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol has become a yearly tradition for me to read ever since I first read it a few years ago. I also like the Tripods Trilogy by John Christopher, Jaws by Peter Benchley, George R. Stewart's Earth Abides, and Dan Brown's last couple of books. I also enjoy various Star Wars Expanded Universe books, but I'm more a fan of the earlier Bantam era than the more recent Del Rey era. I have a lot of favorites, but those are just off the top of my head. |

Robert B. Parker - the modern detective novel author. Wrote the books that Spencer for Hire was based on. Great reads, characters with a loto of history and witty banter abound.
Stephen King - I was in my 30's when I read my first King book - The Gunslinger. Have been hooked ever since, just finished the Talisman and am working on Black House right now. Weis and Hickman - Dragonlance Chronicles - nuff said. Nelson DeMille - "The Generals Daughter" the first book I ever thought was better than the movie. Hemingway - as trite as it sounds I dig a Farewell to Arms. Tolkien - LOTR |
