Believe it or not this could also be stress related. Since it has been a few days I am inclined to believe so (but I am not a doctor). Common myth is that back pain from stress can only effect upper back, its very much case by case and entirely up to the indivitual. Also this is the most misdiagnosed source of back problems in the nation.

I recently bought a BAck2Life, its this weird thing they have informercials for, its stretches your back muscles or something like that. You could google it, Ive only used it once so far so I dont know how it will affect long term but my back felt better after i used it.

I went thru a month and a half of it, about a month back and then a couple days here or there. Meds didn't help, affected walking and driving.
It's at the point where can feel it all the time, but doesn't truly hurt. Very tweaky. Haven't done a chiropractor yet. Sometimes you just have to deal with it, work thru the pain. Sucks.

You need a medical assessment - you can mess yourself up more if you start self-diagnosing.
After three years of recurring back pain in my lower back I went to my family doctor and had MRI and X-Rays done. When they came up normal I went to the Chiropractor who charged me a ton and didn't fix anything. I actually then went to a Physical Therapist who told me that the problem was not in my lower back but in my hamstrings. My hamstrings were so tight that they were pulling my back awkwardly and causing muscle spasms. In about 1 week after stretching and doing core exercises I stopped having the pain and have not had it for 6 months now. |

What Flint071 said. The back is an area YOU DO NOT MESS WITH.

This is all very interesting. I'm currently experincing pain all the time due to a torn muscule. My L4 and L5 are messed up. I've tried physical therapy twice. No long term relief. I've tried all sorts of medication and I'm building a tolerance to it. Nothing is touching it. I did steroid injections last month. The pain has gotten worse. Nothing seems to help. I'm going back to the Dr. tomorrow. I've actually had some spasms that put me on the ground.

I was in a car accident a year and a half ago and have herniated discs in my upper and lower.
Being I drive and hour to and from work each day, I am in constant pain and take 2 oxycodones a day to get through it, have had 6 cortisone shots and today in fact, have a meeting with my doctor to discuss "the next step" or as he lovingly referred to it as "filleting me". I'm not looking forward to surgery and I agree, DO NOT MESS WITH YOUR BACK AND NECK. |

DS, be glad you're not in Idaho. The building I just did out there, 40' high of 12" solid block. Probably about 1200 lineal feet.

thanks guys, the pain is in the upper area, they said its disk 1 & 2, the trouble is that they tend to turn so slightly that it causes pain, iv see all kinds of doctors and they all told me the same thing, there is surgery for this but its way too risky do to my age,I'm 32 & they told me it will take up to a year before i would get my life back in order, and a lot of them refuses to do it,so I'm stuck with these pains, i had since 98, were i got hurt at working for home depot. the worst part of this is when the pain shoot to the front of my chest, now its the whole upper body, from there I'm done till the pain cools down, which some time take a week or so,
