Since we were chatting about it the other day and it got off topic from the TV show to the toys...I figured there a few of us fans here to keep something ongoing and in all directions.
Alright so I watched "Turtles Forever" in its entirety on Youtube and for a guy who hasn't seen anything turtle since the 80's-early 90's...HOLY SH*T...That was F'ING AWESOME!!!! I couldnt believe how well they pulled off the "80's" turtles being such...annoying "kids"..in comparsion to the current "hero" turtles. By far though..the ending, "Turtle Prime" was just incredible, the way it ended with the line from the last page of the comic was off the hook. So today I watched Fast Forward..I heard a few people giving it crap..it wasnt the greatest thing I ever watched, but it was worth a 1/2 hr of my time...not bad. Right now, I'm working on getting the original figures..well the 25th ones, I have my originals but no accesories. Then I saw the NECA ones...absolutely awesome, and I cant find one for less than 50.00 each!! |

Never finished the NES version of the game (the first one). Man, that was a frustrating game!!! Figure wise I was too old for that at that moment, the only one I got was a Donatello figure!

TMNT were a staple of my childhood. They rocked then...and still rock now.

I absolutely loved my Turtles. I was 8 or 9 when I discovered them. My granny spoiled me so every time I came to her house, we would go buy me some turtle stuff. Its a line I hope to go back and collect favorites from one day. After a few years, the stuff just became too goofy for me and that is when I discovered Joe's.

The Rat King was always a favorite villain of mine too. Getting Shredder to hold his sword or getting him to stand up was always a taxing job as an 8 year old though. Same with the Foot Soldiers. The TMNT2 Foot Soldiers were actually pretty cool though.

Really they kinda had to do the 80s turtles as comedy relief next to the 200x turtles... the 200x series (at least in the early seasons) was lot more faithful to the original comics... following the storylines almost exactly (with the surprise exception of Shredder being an Utrom)... and had a much more serious tone.
I'm gonna pick up the last few issues of Tales of the TMNT and see if I can't find the backlog... It's kinda sad that it's the end of an era though. Eastman has sold the Turtles to Nickolodeon... so Tales of the TMNT's last issues and Turtles Forever are the last things to come out of the Eastman and Laird dynasty.

I want to get the classic TMNT figures again myself for some reason and I almost had all four of them for $11.99 off of ebay, except...I slept past the end date and didn't make a bid. Only ONE person bid of them the whole time. ARGH.
How do I know it was the originals and not the re-releases (which I feel for some reason aren't as good as knowingly having the originals)? The guy also had the original profiles off the back of the classic packaging. >_O It's funny since I have all four of the turtles from the 2003 show, Fast Forward show, and even customized versions of the NECA ones.
