Anyone out there a fan? Just got the new Dresden Files book from Amazon yesterday and I left this morning on page 200 or so.
Great series if you haven't checked it out.

I've seen 'em and been meaning to check 'em out.
Mixing magic and the modern world has always been something that I've liked (if you couldn't tell by what Gatewatch is about, lol).

I have read a few of his books and they have all been good. I also like the mixing of the fantasy elements and the modern world. The show that used to be on SyFy was also good. The Dresden Files.

I like the Dresden books a lot. I compare his writing style to that of Alan Dean Foster's. Butcher is also a LARPer.
If you like Butcher you should check out The Damned series by Foster. The first book is "A Call To Arms". |

I just started on the Dresden Files recently. On the second one now. In fact it's sitting right in front of me on my desk as I type this. My girlfriend introduced me to the books. She read 'em a while back.
Seriously. This is the type of book I've been look for for years. modern day detective mystery with heavy fantasy elements written in a slight noir fashion. I was specifically looking for a book like this a few years ago. I picked up The Somnambulist. It's interesting, but not what I was looking for.

Sweet. My reading list is a little blank after I finish this book and the last Codex Alera (Butchers high fantasy series) book.
