I have a question for the other ebay sellers on here. I only ship to the US and Canada because of past problems shipping overseas. Anyway, I clearly state that in my shipping details and description of the item. Here is my situation, I guy from Brazil just won a figure lot from me and I politely sent him a message saying that I do not ship to Brazil and that he should have read my shipping details before bidding. He is now questioning why I can't sell it to him. Can he leave me negative feedback for not selling this lot to him? How should I handle this?
Thanks, Jason Now, if they want to be a pain about it and won't cancel the winnings, then they could leave negative feedback but you can also reply to the feedback stating you don't ship to his country and then file a resolution with eBay.

I've had a couple issue with this where I was selling MOC things and the buyer stated that the packaging was destroyed or damaged.
Usually I will work with the individual buyer to decide what the best corrective action is. On occasion I have had buyer who want a full refund and refuse to return the item. If I have doubts about the validity of their claims I will demand that the item be returned before I refund anything, but if the buyer seems on the up-and-up I will defintely work with them to find resolution. Always get some sort of proof that the item is damaged though. I had one guy try to send me pictures of a broken 12" G.I Joe figure, stating that the one I sent was the one pictures, however, the picture was so fuzzy and grainy that I requested that the figure be returned for closer inspection. No response to that request and no refunds offered. Of course, you have to worry about negative feedback comments. |

Here's a bit of advice I have done when selling MOC figures in the past. I will take multiple pictures of the item (only using one for the auction) and I record the date stamp of the figure for my records in case somebody claims foul.
I sold a MOC 25th Storm Shadow but had the buyer "claim" the figure got damaged in the shipment and wanted a refund. He sent the item back but it was NOT the figure I had mailed out. I had a first release SS and he sent back one with a different date stamp and when I e-mailed him about this ... he must have been shocked at how concise I was he told me not to worry about refunding him and told me to keep the figure. It's a shame people have to be deceitful when it comes to items like toys, but just be careful out there because there are people looking to pull switcharoos that buy items and return damaged ones for refunds.

If the auction is over and he is the winning bidder he can leave negative feedback. Ebay may adjust it if you show them that you stated your shipping guidelines specifically. I'd say ship it anyways just make sure your adjust the charges. Anything that requires a custom form automatically has a tracking # on it. The USPS just doesn't give it to you, you have to write it down yourself.

You can also file to cancel the winning bidders and if they agree, it's no harm, no foul as you will be refunded your FVF and nobody can leave feedback for the item.

Thanks, I canceled the transaction. Hopefully he will understand and not be an ass about it. I could understand if I hadn't listed my shipping details, but I had it very clear in my description that I don't ship overseas. Thanks again. Jason |

Yes he can because he now has access to leaving you feedback. Technically he has "won" an auction or declared himself the buyer of one of your listings. eBay has rectified this problem by you placing certain countries on block. You can find this in your shipping options. This prevents your listings from even showing up in a search when someone from a country you do not want to deal with goes looking for a particular item.
I always specify U.S. only in all of my auctions, yet I always have someone from Timbuktu e-mailing wanting a shipping quote. I almost always tell them that I don't offer international shipping. I actually had a guy from spain win a kotobukiya boba fett a few years back even though I specified no international shipping. I contacted ebay and they said that I didn't have any obligation to complete the transaction since my terms were stated clearly. Also, they said if he left negative feedback that it would be removed. |
